|
|
Back in February we restuctured the staff to add a new category for Senior Moderators, and today, we are eliminating that category.
While everything mentioned in the announcement from February is still true in that each person has focus areas, we've found that it's not efficient to strictly limit our capabilities to our focus areas. So, for example, if a particular person that never deals with score moderation happens to come across blatant 999,999 spam when no others are around, then he/she should still be able to take action right away.
Also, as several moderators have become more active than senior moderators, the separation has become somewhat misleading in the public eye. Internally, each person will have different areas of concentration, but ultimately we operate as a single team and that's how things should be reflected to the community.
In addition to this, we will be setting up a global access point on the forums where problems can be reported (similar to SH-Bot in IRC). This way, for those helping to report problems on the site, you won't need to worry about catching a particular mod to PM when they're online, or worry about PMing someone who may or may not be able to directly handle the issue in the report.
Along with these changes, I am happy to announce that Cdw01 has joined the staff primarily for score moderation. He's already been secretly helping with us for several weeks now, and has been detecting/reporting false scores for at least over a year as a regular member. Cdw01 brings a lot of insightful knowledge to the team and is very dedicated to finding problems and thoroughly investigating them in order to ensure the right decisions are made.
In anticipation of the added load RB2 and GHWT will both bring, we are actively analyzing each staff member's focus area and mapping out where more help is needed. So don't be surprised to see more staff-related announcements in the near future! _________________

Cool, I always thought having both green and red was kind of pointless when the regulars got the same powers.
Incidentally, all the new "Scorehero Staff" banners have a period above them, and have a period as title text too. |
