Video Explanation

Some people have asked me how I hit certain fills in War Ensemble. So, these are the 11 fills in War Ensemble that I have taken the time to memorize. If you're having trouble with any of them, maybe my sticking method can help. Dots are for spacing purposes only.

I've added WarlordTm's sticking methods in blue. He offers a great alternative to someone who isn't "double-stroking like he is on crack" :-p Also, it's worth noting that WarlordTm plays on a 5-lane kit, and I came up with my sticking methods on a 4-lane kit in the traditional RB layout. So we have sticking recommendations for both kits now!

Fill #1 - Intro A

L R R L L. R R L L. R R L R
L R L R L. R L R L. R L R L

woah what the hell, there are this many fills that require odd stickings like this?

I wish I could say this made me give up on War Ensemble, but frankly I've done that a long time ago lol.

Top post moose. Most useful.

I don't think you have to double-stroke quite as much as moose does, but yeah they're pretty nuts

This reinforces my belief that this is the hardest song ever. I don't even try on the fills.

True that. Without a doubt, I double-stroke more than most people do (or should).

So at some points you use the same hand for more than one note in a row?

If that's the case, exactly how can you do that?

I'm not sure if you are kidding or not. Either way, I recorded a quick little vid for you. (Alternate link; YouTube has given me difficulties recently.)

Yeah well that's not really the problem lol, I mean, I can barely 4* the song because my arms can't keep up with the song, and my legs can't even go fast enough for the 8th bass note crap lol

I went into this thread thinking "My Sticking? What song is that and what game is it in?".

Did no one notice that I wrote Fill #8 down wrong? It cost me two FCs before I checked the chart and realized it >.<

I think I know why no one notices, it's probably that most of us are just being destroyed by this song, and just flail the pads at those fills trying to hit as much as possible, which might sometimes result in hitting the fill.

I mean, I know for a fact that I've personally never even tried to analyse these fills just because it's kinda pointless when you can't even 5* the song lol.

I already commented on your vid, but thanks for the explanation. I just didn't get the "R R"s and "L L"s and such you had listed.

Now that I've been getting more consistent with the rolls in War Ensemble, I though I'd share my sticking methods as well... they might be useful for anyone who's not double-stroking like they're on crack (my sticking methods are in bold)

Fill #1 - Intro A

R L R L. R R L R L R L R

Fill #3 - Verse 2

R R L. R R L R L. R R L L R L
L R L R R L R L. R L R L R L (Double stroking the first two reds might be a little less awkward. This sticking method does the job for me most of the time though... god, I hate this fill )

Fill #4 - Solo 1A
Same as Fill #1

Fill #5 - Mosh Riff 1

R R L L. R L R R L R. R L R R L R. R L R R L R L R R L L R L

L R L R L. R L R L

Fill #7 - Mosh Riff 2
Same as Fill #1

Fill #8 - Bridge 2

L R R. L L R L R R L L R R
L R L. R L R L R R L L R R

NO!!!! This is incorrect, and it cost me two FCs before I noticed. FUCK MY LIFE!

L L R R. L L R L R R L L R R

Fill #9 - Ready...

L L R R. L R L L R R L R R. L R R L R L L R L. R L R L R L R L R
R L R L R L R L. R R L R R L R R. L L R L R L R L. R L R L R L R

Old sticking. Don't use it anymore because going from a B right diddle to a G left diddle was causing too many stick collisions.

Fill #3 - Verse 2

try this if you're having trouble

L R L R L R L L R L R

moving the double-stroke to the end instead of the beginning of the roll might make it smoother for some ppl, i know it does for me.

tried to make it line up nice and pretty but i'm not good at this =P
