|

All of the links to everything is dead. The guide link and the link to GHEX is dead. I saw a video of plumato playing GH2, and I want to know how to inject my own songs. I have an ISO and my ultimate goal is to emulate it, because I will never fork over 100 dollars for the Swap Magic bullshit or cut a hole on my PS2. _________________

1-emulate the iso file with daemon tools (or any other program)
extracting iso from winrar/7zip will give errors while trying to emulate the custom iso
2-if you're on windows 7 (without full admin access) or windows 8 (regardless of admin permissions) create a folder in the documents for the gh2 customs
3.0 - Copy The Files from the Emulated drive to the created gh2 customs folder (and create another folder inside just for the gh2 files)
3- put ghex there and open it (select File -> Add)
Let ghex verify the files
3.1 (not needed, but it make file replacing process faster) after it's complete, right click "main" and click "Shrink Archive" , and leave the third option unticked
4- .mid files, you can use both chart and mid files here (also freetar files),
Note: .chart files with "N 5 0" can cause a crash in the program,be sure to ctrl+h with notepad "N 5 0" to "E *"
5- vgs files , you can use mp3 / ogg / wav files here, for single tracks just use band channel, for stems, you may need to use audacity to mix them if there's more than three
most of the work it's on replacing songs (and charting songs if you want to do a bunch and put in the custom) |

I recommend getting a fat PS2, a large IDE HDD, a network adapter, and an IDE enclousure or bridge. The cost will be probably $100 or a little more, but you'll get a much better experience (and the game loader can easily handle multiple GH2 images). You don't need anything else to softmod a PS2, there is an HDD image that I put together that is 100% legal and can be written to an IDE HDD and can then be used with a network adapter to boot any PS2 except the early JP systems with the PCMCIA expansion port. The image includes lots of PS2 homebrew, including Open PS2 Loader for optical disc emulation. Stay away from Western Digital drives, they won't fit on the network adapter without modification of the adapter. _________________
