Ghex is broken

Whenever I attempt to load Ghex, it crashes. I don't know how to fix this. There are always a few archives that the program tries and fails to read.

Have you tried Maxton's software? It pretty much does everything Ghex did (I think) and is still being worked on. Maybe you'll have better luck:

The only time I've had GHEx crash lately was when importing .MIDs and trying to use the dropdowns to reassign difficulties and parts. I do notice that on Windows 7 and up, GHEx appears to freeze on launch but it eventually unfreezes.

ArchiveExplorer literally just extracts files from ARKs of various versions. I mostly use GHEx for chart and audio import, everything else I use ARK Expander and replace the files outside of GHEx (GHEx's "move files to the end of the ARK and close up the gap" takes forever for small files like milos and dtbs).

I also only use the DTB editor for modes.dtb because using dtb2dta/dtbcrypt/DTBTool on it seems to cause the game to cras. I did find a Haskell library for dtb crypting and conversion to/from DTA, which I hope will alleviate that.
