Ive been out of SH and any GH/RB related forum talk for years, but I still watch stuff on YouTube and have subscriptions on YouTube Ive had for 10 years now.

So we know things are being hit now that couldve never have been dreamt of being hit 10 years ago. Out of curiosity, what NPS are people able to strum now, given the newer strum methods? And how fast are people hitting trills now? Idk if exact speeds by specific people are documented but Id even be satisfied with an approximation.

Good question. The speed of I'm the One on VH, Ballroom Blitz on 80s, Trogdor on GH2 are all well documented and require very precise and near strum limit skills of 20+ Notes Per Second. In addition, on the RB side of things, Green Grass and High Tides has been found to be nearly doable on the RB1 engine, and some of the DLC for RB4 is pretty crazy. Singemrfc was quite proud recently of his FC of Where the Streets Have no Name. Metropolis on Bass for RB4 requires some insane skill and has been FCed. You might check on the RB side as its had more recent DLC.

tldr; 22 NPS at least.

Given the inclusion of rake tapping and rake strumming, I'd change that number to 30NPS at the very least for most 'fast' solos now.

I mean, you've got people like Leaf and Frosted who've hit 40/50nps trills & strumming in real runs.

Examples:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SV2NbBFJMD0 - Fast trills at end of song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnvwuiGM3B8 - 40nps strumming
