Usually the "optimal" paths work for me, but k3v's path has me completely stumped. Using the basic 2-3 path for the activations up to the second chorus instead of k3v's 1-2-2 nets me about 3k more points and doesn't seem to have any other drawbacks that I can see. Am I doing something wrong?

Nah, that's not it. I'd be losing a lot more than 3-4k points if that were the case. It might be that I'm not whammying enough, there are a couple short whammies in there that I'm not whammying because they're too difficult, but it might be costing me more points than I think. I dunno why going 3-2 changes that though.
