I finally made it, but too late realised that I was playing Quick Play. Feeling slightly irritated right now. I'll go to sleep and try again tomorrow.

(And of course: Sorry about typos or grammatical errors, after all it's 3 AM in this time zone.)

Here's a path, suggest improvements or FC it, whichever's easier:

Texas Flood - Hard (ignore if the paths below are better)

I think it's worth at least a few thousand more to activate on the first Y of the YYBO right before the OSSOD. That should also end on the orange hold in 63.

Edit: Actually... it might be even better to combine the 3rd and 4th activations and start on the second O in 56. You lose out on some extra time under SP that whammying gets you, but the ammount of notes in those 8 measures should make up for it.

Alright, here are my two paths:

Texas Flood Path #1

Texas Flood Path #2

The second one is my idea. I'm not quite sure which path is more optimal, so I decided to share both with you.

After counting all notes under SP, without regard to sustains, here are the statistics:

emptyset's path: 289 normal notes under SP
Armageddon's path: 318 normal notes under SP

Note: All chords count as 2 "normal" notes.

So, here is the path: Texas Flood SP Path

I just calculated out the differences from my suggestions to {}'s path and Armageddon's path, and it looks like his is about 6 notes better still. Use his.

For Sully's sake, I strongly suggest someone to check whether the established 2-2-2-2-2 or 3-3-2-2, skipping over the sp in measure 47 is a better path. I tested several different paths for easy and medium and 3-3-2-2 came out to be the best on both of those. Barbaloot also recently posted the expert optimal path as 3-3-2-2.

Edit: Here's what I came up with-
2-2-2= 2956+2397+4040=9393
3-3= 4611+5101=9712

Looks like hard is in line with all the other difficulties. 3-3 comes out to be around ~1200 more points. The 1st activation definitely starts on the last yellow in measure 15. I checked Piso's activation on measure 43 after looking at mine and his should be the best.

I was just about to check out 3-3-2-2 after seeing Barbaloot's post. I'll edit in the results afterwards.

Edit: It looks like Barbaloots path of 3-3-2-2 edges out Armaggeddons path by about 400 pre-multiplier (if I counted correctly, his path is really small to see).

I'm not too sure if the activation points/endings are correct (transfering from expert to hard was a little difficult without being able to see the measure numbers), can I get a confirmation from some of you folks? (click to get a full sized image).

Piso- you accidentally left two entire lines of activations unshaded.

I'll test the end points now.

Oh, and I redrew it in my style (click for larger image):

Fly1ngV, thank you so much! It got me through this beotch of a song on my first try using it. I only hit 90% of the notes, and still 5-starred. An all-time low for me. 90% is the lowest percent I've gotten on a song and still 5-starred. I owe you one, Fly1ngV. You are the man.

I made up my own SP path that doesn't involve the first SP. Then, the other day, I hit that SP and had no idea what to do.

I can get aroud 180k without the first SP though.

After my GH3 data became corrupted (mourn with me), I finally went back to five starring this monster, and the path really helped, however, I couldn't do it without another trick up my sleeve - the DualShock! For some reason it is WAY easier to DualShock this thing than to play it on an SG. Does that make me any less of a hero? Get those 5 stars any way you can, i say!
