1-3-2-2-1-1 is the best path, but if you're not good at whammying, you probably won't be able to get the 2nd to last activation.

I would agree with Cdw, I just can't find a way to activate that second to last SP quick enough or lay off on it enough. I'm sure i'll get it eventually

I've found a way to always get the difficult SP activation. You have to activate the one before that a bit earlier so that you can start earlier with the Y star note. By doing exactly the same (just pressing down once hard and fast with each hold) I always fill the gauge up. Then the only tricky thing is the activation and really waiting for the Star power to clear up before you can hit the final SP hold.
