Seven notes off, and 4th on PS3. I'm amazed I got that close to winning as it is, but if I'd guessed just a tiny bit higher... ah well. Congratulations to the winners!

Wohooo.... I got 3rd on PS3 with a random guess

Well, to be honest I did some really basic NPS-calculations that took one minute, but I was nowhere near as methodical as eddaket. Congrats by the way to your well deserved first place!

The new guitar will come in handy too since my Les Paul is crap and the WTar has an annoying affection to double strum for no good reason.

Well now that I've had a minute to look at it, I easily figured out how I came to be so horridly wrong. I only counted 1 section of the song, from the last 1000s digit giveaway to the end. Chords were easy to count, and now I realize I got the ticks just about right--> if I had the right final score and the right chord number I would have gottern 2362

Anyways so what I did was I saw that the pattern in the last couple seconds of the 1000s digit showing-time period was about the same right up until the 3 G-O scales. Good assumption, poorly executed estimate. I guessed that at the start of those scales, the 1000s digit would be 8 or 9, it was actually very close to 0. Thats not so bad though. But I doubled that error with raw stupidity for what comes after the G-O scales. The real pattern is

So that put me more than 10 notes off there. >2000 points there + 2000 in the previous estimation + slightly wrong ticks in the last section that was balanced out by slightly wrong ticks earlier in the song in the opposite direction = enough notes off in the ending to make my final score guess be 4826x4 instead of 4886x4.

And I had 64 chords instead of 71, oops, missed 1 outright, miscounted 2 sections, and thought the

was sets of 2 going up, hence me being off by 4 there.

and thus, if I was smart at the end, and I had used the score to count that particular chord section rather than a bad assumption, I would have guessed about 2356-2360.

Too bad.

OMG I won on Xbox, this is so awesome! Can't remember my guess but I remember trying to count the chords and I could see 480k was the final score. But OMG I'm so happy right now, merry christmas to me!!!

Edit: Oh it has our scores. I was 1 off lol but screwed up the chords, didn't see that fast strumming bit as chords.

Ah! I went over by 6...

My issue was totally miscounting the chords. I'm pretty happy with how I did considering I only spent an hour looking it over. This was a fun contest, hope something like this is done some other time.

Hey eddaket, btw how did you do it? What do you mean by misplaced score? Did you guess the exact score or something lol? Wow I didn't put too much thought into it. Took me less than half an hour to get my estimate.
