Guitar Hero Tournament, Sunday, July 23rd, 2006. Albuquerque

What: First open tournament for Guitar Hero competitors.

Where: Rising Edge, 1016 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE Suite E, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87112

When: Sunday, July 23rd, 2006.
Registration: 4:00 P.M.
Tournament Starts: 5:00 P.M.

Who: The bracketing will be a double-elimination format. More rules will be updated tonight. Please show interest and pre-register as soon as possible! The different brackets will be dependent on the registered players. Please post the following: Name(Nickname), Division (Medium, Hard, Expert). IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU BRING YOUR OWN GUITAR! This is to ensure that you are on a familiar guitar. We will NOT be responsible if you are paired with a "lackluster" guitar.

I would enter this, but one I am 15 and my parents wouldn't approve and two, I only live on the other side of the country.

if i didn't work on friday, saturday, or sunday, i would go. i'mgiving myself three days here because i need travel time and such.

Wow! That is very unfortunate for everyone. But it's okay if you can't make it to this first one. We will start having the tournament on a 3-4 week basis and regularly. So be ready for the next tournament to be posted very soon afterward.

This first tournament is more of an interest check. Because of the responses so far, the next tournament will be planned and scheduled in a month or so. That should ease the pressure on a few people. I really do want everyone to show up and compete. So don't fret

, there will be many more MAJOR guitar hero tournaments in Albuquerque. There are quite a few decent expert players who are really thirsty for competition.

I say we Californians get a tournament going somewhere near Sacramento. Although I would be absolutely demolished in it (since, if my memory serves me correctly, krimsun and JHetfield both live relatively close to me

), it'd be nice to meet the people that are kickin my ass every way imaginable.
