Has anyone else been watching this? So far it's been a pretty boring season imo...but I'll give it a chance I guess because the first week usually isn't that great. Favorites, as of now, are Matt for being (supposedly) intelligent and kind of relatable, and then Britney for being such an amazing ubercunt <3. Anyone else have opinions on it so far?

I've read the novel. Big Brother is a dick. The book was really good, though.

I don't care about the TV series.

You're talking about "1984"

I know...

I actually despise the concept of the series, it requires absolutely ZERO input from the directors, and it ends up mainly as schadenfreude.

But who doesn't love schadenfreude?

And...well, duh it requires zero input from the people running the show. They put them in the house, explain the rules, and it's up to the houseguests on how the show goes. That's what makes it so fascinating.

I actually didn't care for the book. The concept was brilliant, but the plot and characters absolutely ruined any potential the concept gave the book to be good.

I completely lost interest as soon as Shabby walked out.

Yes, I know you're talking about the American version. I, however, am not.

I've seen a bit of the UK version and loved Sunshine...but that's about it. I lost interest as well.

What little I saw of this year made me fervently wish Shabby wasn't gay. She was hot. Like, ridiculously.

Serious advice now: No-one likes indecision in their work, so find what you like that you're even remotely good at, and stick with it. Don't flit from one thing to another, because that just smacks of a large lack of determination and drive. And people don't like you for that, and won't remember you for it. I mean, I get that you have a plucky spirit and a willingness to try new things, but there's a limit, man.
I might knock it down to just Thursday and Friday.

You are right. Very right. But aside from that, I just thought she was really cool, far and away the most likeable housemate in the entire 11-year history of the show. They seem to have changed their plan this year - usually they seem to pick the most obnoxious people imaginable in the hope of getting drama, whereas this time I reckon the majority of them are decent people who I could actually get on with.

I read that there have been a few people who have quit the British version of the show, yet I can't recall anyone who has quit the American show. I know of people who got kicked off (like the guy who put a knife to anothers neck way back - American), but is there something crazy about the British version as opposed to the American one (for those who have seen both versions - I dont get the British version in Canada)?

Didn't Chima quit last season?
