|
|
Hey everyone,
Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but the Guitar Hero series is about to turn 5 years old in about a week! Anyways, to celebrate this milestone, we've put together a list of the top 50 guitar songs of the first 5 years of the series. We're unveiling the list as the week goes on, and just wanted to go ahead and bring this to your attention! This will end up being a six part series, with three parts already revealed!
Thanks a lot for reading guys and don't be afraid to leave your comments either here or in the articles themselves!

Looking forward to seeing what is number 1 (although I have a very good idea).
My only gripes so far are “Runnin’ Down a Dream” by Tom Petty at 24 and “Hit the Lights” by Metallica at 44. Literally swap those two around and the list is near perfect (in my opinion that is ) |

Thankyou for giving Joe Bonamassa recognition.
It's made my day. _________________

2- DWDTG
3- TTFaF (GH3)
4- Hangar 18 (GH2)
5- Freebird _________________

Freebird's already been done at about 34, IIRC.
And I hope they mention Dream Theater. Sure, GH only has Pull me Under, but that's a freaking epic song. _________________

All I'll say is that Mercyful Fate had damn well better be on there. |

Solid list so far, I'd maybe ordered things a bit different myself but obviously it's impossible to please everyone completely. I hope Texas Flood makes an appearance at some point. |

“Hit the Lights” features Metallica at the peak of their talent. |

That was their first ever recorded song. Either this was a massive fail, or a really low blow.
Anyway, are you judging the songs by significance in the GH timeline or on the songs themselves? Either way, some are grossly misplaced, IMO (One should be higher, for example).
That's probably just a matter of taste, though. Otherwise, the list looks pretty good. Keep it up (= _________________

Meh. I already know A-Punk won't be there so now I'm sad. Could I at least have Panic Attack! or Bodhisattva? What about Psychobilly Freakout? I'll totally settle for that...
I'm very glad that 21CSM is as high as 25 though. _________________
