I got this game today, and i'm really enjoying playing it. I'm about 15 episodes into the story. The only complaint i have had so far is, i get on and do one ranked match, and the first game i get in the guy is 52-13 and the game has been out for less than 2 days. I understand that the matches don't take that long, but damn. |

Well he's probably one of the same guys that I fixed a RROD on, on an xbox. I fixed it with my brand new fix (using liquid flux), and he broke it in a month. He was playing it daily, for over 12 hours a day. I fixed it again since then, and its been about a week and it didn't come back. I did a little more detailed to the heating this time, heating underneath the board, and all the RAM chips, as well as the NAND chip this time. Basically anything I can get my flux under, is what I reballed. Lets see how long until he kills that. Next up if he breaks it again, I am installing my bracket alongside of another thorough reheat, and I am installing a dual fan system to cool the GPU and CPU so it never gets hot enough so that the balls of solder don't get that hot.
I plan on getting this game soon. Maximillion did a nice video on the game, and I am loving the netcode. Plus, it'll be a nice change, than a "Get thrown and lose 3/4 of my life" game. I've always enjoyed Soul Calibur, and I have to find out how much they changed Kilik - I mean - Monkey king. _________________

Kilik is still in the game but it's a random character.
Infact, Edge Master and Elysium are also random characters which is incredible cheap if you ask me.
They completely butchered my Ivy
So far I'm 8-0 so it's not like Ivy is crap but still I miss my 3 stances.
Having a lot of fun though, with my new Arcade stick _________________

You knew what I meant... lol.
Wow... a random? Ugh... :/
How good is the game? I am seeing it online and watching people play, and it seems really solid. Watched some WNF last night and it looked great. I'm definitely getting it, but I want all your opinions of it. _________________

It's decent.
I'm not gonna lie, I think SCIV feels a lot better while playing even though SCV seems to be more balanced.
I really think it's a bad idea that you have to pay 25% of your bar to GI. Even though GI is a lot more powerful to compensate it. Almost every character (Not Ivy grrrr) can link his/her GI into his/her Critical Edge.
I love the whole Brave Edge/Critical Edge system.
If you've lost 2 rounds and the next one you lose would the end you actually get 50% (1 bar) for free. I've already seen some nasty shit VS. Z.W.E.I
If he has 2 bars he can actually link 2 Critical Edges in each other. Doesn't do that much damage so it should be fine.
Story Mode was as aspected for a fighting game. (I've finished it, not going to spoil the not so good story.)
Arcade mode replaced the Tower of Souls from SC4. You get 240 enemies you have to battle. Some are easy, some are hard and some are LolWuT?!?!
Online you have Ranked match (Duh) Player Match (Duh) and Global Coliseum. Global coliseum is a HUGE chat lobby were you can text chat with over 80 people, you can join a king of the hill-eque game type, find a random match using the match finder or challenge someone directly by clicking on his tile. I personally see this working for next generation fighting games as well. Mortal Kombat also did this but a lot less organised.
Character creation is a bit more expanded since SCIV. However, I first want to unlock every piece of wardrobe I can find before I create something.
Still have questions? _________________

I think the netcode alone could be reason to get this game. The gameplay received a universal speed boost too so the fights and gameplay look awesome, and even so the online play is very close to seamless.
I'm not much of a custom character person, but the amount of customization you can do actually impressed me a lot. |
