This may be the greatest story in a video game ever. It's become quite a cult classic, and it's changed my view on video games forever.

Basically, it's a retelling of the Twin Peaks TV show. In a small town in the US, a high school girl is murdered. An FBI detective comes to investigate it and starts to uncover some strange stuff. All I can say is, NEVER LOOK UP SPOILERS FOR IT!!! Story is the whole motivations for playing this game.

I've heard comparisons to Alan Wake,Heavy Rain, and Catherine, if that helps create a picture of what it's like.

Wiki Page

Has anyone played and what were your thoughts? I know how much you guys like obscure and indie games, so I thought this would be THE place to ask.

I'm tempted to buy a PS3 just to play the Director's Cut of it.

Or I can wait until Swery decides to give me what I want and make a prequel to the game about....

This is on my list of games to play. My ex and I were going to play through this because we love the hilariously bad movies like on Mystery Science Theater.

I've thought about playing through this very soon actually. I can't wait to sink my teeth into it! I want to spend one of my 4 day weekends playing it, at my friend's, with a bottle of whiskey.

You'll probably love it. It's got that camp feeling to it. The music, the graphics, the random spoken outbursts: it all looks like a game from the Dreamcast or something.

You'll have to play quickly to finish it in 4 days. The story can take upwards of 15 hours, and the side objectives (which are extremely bizarre) take about 5 hours to finish. All I can say is, again, FOR THE LOVE OF FUCK, DON'T READ SPOILERS!

Sounds interesting. Has the release date for the PS3 Director's Cut been announced? Does anybody know what the differences will be between the two?

All that's been confirmed is that it will have PS Move support. But rumor is that it will have updated graphics (I don't know if I like this or not). More is supposed to be revealed at E3.

If it becomes impossible to play it with a standard controller, I'd recommend finding the Japanese PS3 version (the only current PS3 edition) or getting the XBOX version. This isn't a game that should make you mimic the character.

But apparently, Swery's already got a prequel and a sequel planned. I'm so happy:

If you do, make sure to send me the link to it. This game will make you question everything you've ever learned from video games.

The Let's Plays of this on YouTube are pretty hilarious. It's even better if you can get a friend to help you do commentary too.

Anyone get the Director's Cut? Should I get it if I already own the XBOX 360 edition?
