Well, I noticed that a thread for this event hadn't been created yet, so because of Nintendo's recent Direct conference, I figured it would be necessary to create it now instead of tomorrow or the next day.

On the topic of Nintendo's preliminary conference on Nintendo Direct, they made three major announcements:

- Controller has been trademarked as "Wii U GamePad," and it is revealed to also be a universal TV remote along with being a game controller
- The GamePad Pro, a variation of the controller without the screen
- The MiiVerse, a Mii-based social network that allows video chat, messaging, and content sharing

Overall, it looks like they have some good ideas here, and hopefully they get some smart applications in the software.

While one game in particular is teased in the conference, the software looks like it's going to be saved for the actual E3 conference, and assuming that most of the hardware talk is dealt with, there should be a lot of room for the actual games to receive the spotlight.

That seems to be it, but I've also had some entertainment with some stuff in this little gem in the Direct feed, as evidenced by my avatar.

Just to show what I'm about to be raving about:

Well, I can say that I, for one, am excited for the WiiU, especially the "Pro" controller. Maybe it's just me, but it looks like it's got the same sort of port on the top of it as a standard sync cable (like the PSP, PS3 controller, and countless cameras use), which brings a smile to my face, for several reasons: 1., it means no more AA battery bullshit, 2., can be plugged directly into the console, and 3., the hope that one day, PC drivers (official or otherwise) may show up, allowing me to use it on my computer if I (or anyone else) should feel like it .

I do have mixed feelings about the placement of the right control stick. Like the WiiU GamePad, it's above the face buttons, which to me means two things: improved precision (as your thumb will be, in a sense, a relaxed position), and possibly awkward, as the face buttons are, obviously, in a place you're probably not used to. Still, I'd like to play with it to see how well the controller as a whole works, especially the D-Pad .

I do wonder if there will be buttons underneath the control sticks, though. Seems like the sort of thing you'd really need to make sure you have since the 360, PS3, and many PC controllers all have them .

The other features seem pretty neat, too, but that one controller gives me all kinds of things to think about how the system will be handled. Of course, the GamePad is something to think about, too, but I think you've gotten the point haha.

It was addressed in the conference that the controller will have stick buttons, at least if I'm interpreting this correctly.

I saw the Direct conference, and there were a few things that came to my mind:

- So the control sticks on the Gamepad click in along with moving around? Gee that sounds a lot li-

...nevermind...

I do like the Pro controller, don't get me wrong. I also love the idea of the Gamepad and I can't wait to be able to try it in the future

- While it has taken Nintendo this long to finally catch up, it's nice to hear about them starting to be more online-friendly with the whole MiiVerse social network. The fact that this'll also be accessable on PC is a nice touch, too

- Another New Super Mario Bros...? I loved the DS one when it came out, but the last one was so boring for me. But am I the only one that sort of thinks of Yes when looking at that background of the stage in the video?

- That promo...Star Fox 64 promo, anyone? Also, zombie boss

Ah, if that's what he means, then I only need to point at your avatar for my reaction .

For me, today (yesterday) consisted of people repeatedly shitting on everything Nintendo revealed. No matter what anybody says, I'm certain Nintendo will get the last laugh as they almost always do.

In other news, excited to hear what M$ reveals about Halo 4.

Apparently Microsoft thinks what the 360 was missing was Internet Explorer. And more Kinect. To quote LittleKuriboh on Twitter: "EVOLUTION!"

Yeah, that's kind of like saying "I know exactly what this Ferarri needs, a clown horn and a My Little Pony paint job!"

For the record, I think Internet Explorer is better than My Little Pony. You can actually use Internet Explorer to look up things besides ponies. Like midget porn.

So how about that Watch_Dogs?

I'm definitely stoked to see the potential for this title and can't wait to hear more about it. I also can't wait to see Nintendo's conference even more tomorrow because of the flop that's being called Microsoft's conference

Watch_Dogs is definitely the best title I've seen so far in this year's E3. With the stellar AI, fantastic visuals, and surprisingly unique gameplay, it just had the best mix of gameplay and presentation out of all of the games shown so far. It's also refreshing to see new IPs in an industry that's crowded with sequels, spin-offs and rehashes.

Nintendo's conference should hopefully change that. The Pre-E3 stream they had should hopefully indicate they have a lot of software to showcase in their conference onstage, and I'm also ready for a more extensive 3DS line-up. It should be a clean sweep for them this year considering how offtrack Microsoft's conference was and how dry Sony's was (the latter wasn't bad or anything; it just seemed like it only accomplished providing for games we were already aware of rather than showing new material).

That video summed up my sentiments for their past three Kinect fe-- ahem, conferences better than I ever could.

Those clips from Watch Dogs were unbelievably cinematic. I'm very excited about this now; I feel like we really are approaching a new generation of gaming, instead of just rehashing the last one with slightly upgraded processors. I still fear we'll near a graphics "singularity" in the next few years, simply because so much detailed art would have to go into future games, but I'm very positive about it. I'm hoping it will encourage more funds to go towards skilled writers, and leave us with games with a much richer plot and thicker ambience, instead of just adding more hairs to every character's head.
