In fact there are 70 if you pay closer attention. You can "buy" bonus songs with in-game currency and unlock quickplay exclusive songs by playing co-op. Another way around would be to use the cheat code.
On the other hand, Guitar Hero Live does have 42 songs.
Also, I've noticed your attempt to mimic a GH chart in your signature. I would recommend trying out the freticons available on this forum. You can figure out how to do them by clicking "View more emoticons" when writing a reply. Don't abuse them, though.

There's only 42 songs on my GH3 disk. Did I get ripped off?
