Is your Drive a DVD or CD drive, Guitar hero 2 or 80s or 1... ps2 games are made with DVD's, if not see if your drive can burn dvds or cd's

I had this in another forum but I will try here as well.

Using guitar wizard editing guitar hero 1 and I'm getting an error trying to edit a bonus track. I've been able to do the others successfully but not a bonus one. It says:

"Error editing DTB files, the archive was not altered."

The exception: lib/jogg-0.0.7.jar;lib/tritonus_jorbis-0.3.6.jar;lib/tr
itonus_mp3-0.3.6.jar;lib/mp3spi1.9.4.jar;lib/jorbis-0.0.15.jar;lib/jl1.0.jar;lib
/tritonus_share-0.3.6.jar" malictus.gh.GuitarWizardMain
java.lang.Exception: String not found
at malictus.gh.dtb.DTBFile.writeString(DTBFile.java:894)
at malictus.gh.ui.editsong.EditSongFinal.doEditSong(EditSongFinal.java:6
2)
at malictus.gh.ui.editsong.EditSongFinal.access$0(EditSongFinal.java:49)

at malictus.gh.ui.editsong.EditSongFinal$1.run(EditSongFinal.java:295)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

I can get through the offset/sync without a problem but when it gets to the DTB edit, it doesn't matter if I change everything or nothing I still get that error.

Any ideas?

After reading through 20+ pages of this thread, I can see that GWiz is probably what I need in order to accomplish this: changing the "Star Power Ready" message. Since I'm already familiar with using GHEX to add songs, can I just use GWiz to change my game text, followed by GHEX to replace songs? Or would this corrupt my archive?

If you backed it up beforehand, you can just replace the edited one with the original one.

Well, since ArkTool is out and we can add songs, do you think you can incorporate the edited songs.dtb?
It crashes when I added songs and try to change the preview times and whatnot, but it works fine in game.

Sorry if this was already mentioned but, can you tell me in depth what to do to modify the songs. I'm still copying files, so if it clearly states it in the program I apologize.

so i usually use ghex to put my custom songs in the game, then change names etc. with gwiz. i use gh80s

but for some reason this time around, now when i go to open my archive with gwiz i get an error message saying "gh archive files not found." i really dont understand why as i have had no issue in the past and i dont think i did anything differently this time around.

How do you even open the program? I clicked on CLICK_TO_RUN and it just comes up with two folders, malitcus and META-INF. How do I even open the program?

hey all..

using guitar wizard i keep getting this error (invalid MIDI/chart file selected.), when i try to add the midi file to a song ..
tested it with 3 songs so far, one works well, the other two for some reason won't work ..

anyone knows a solusion for this?
regards

EDIT:
well, so far i understood that the midi files in a way differ from another.
also, chat2mid2chart isn't able to convert the mid's that don't work with ghwiz..
any ideas how i could use those midis?
