i had the idea to paint mine like eddie van halens 5150 guitar
it looks bad ass and its a pretty easy piant job

some other ideas are the rising sun paint job like in the game or even the boss 302 decal from the 70's mustangs

Really great stuff, I was going to try and paint my guitar soon, and this really helps.

Haven't seen this in this forum. But apparently the site below has some "replacement" type parts for whammy's. Looks like basically a stamped piece of metal that replaces the tab which goes between the spring holder thingys.

www.guitarheroparts.com

NO, I'm not associated with the site... happen to find it in searching the net for any replacement parts.

Hey, does anyone know if it is possible to move the whammy bar, so that when a lefty flips the controller over, the whammy bar will be on the bottom for them too?

I'm sure it's possible, I'm just trying to think if the "wire strip" ( ) reaches that far so it could be in a reasonable whammy position..

I think the makers should be in this thread piking up ideas for their future guitars and stuff. These are really good.

I'm sure they already have. Either that or it's just a coincidence that so many fan ideas have been turned into real products. The following mods have made it to the marketplace one way or another.

Solo buttons (Nyko doublerange and Rock Band)
Stubby SG (The XFPS mini guitar)
Drum Hero mod (Rock Band)
Custom wireless
Full size conversions (rumored full size official guitars coming)

Why would you need a killswitch guide for the 360, when you could just use the D-Pad?

PostPosted: Sun Aug 05, 2007 8:41 am    Post subject: I', building a PS2/360 guitar with the X-plorer guitar case Reply with quote

For some odd reason I love the play and feel of the 360 X-plorer guitar, but I own the wireless ps2 guitar. So... I'm taking the strummer from the wireless (and power) and putting them in place of the X-plorers strummer. This may seem retarded, but why the hell not.

I'm posting because I'm hopeing someone here may have some knowledge about powering this thing properly, I feel soldering the fret buttons, the wammy and the start and select/back buttons will be very very simple. Just a little worried about 4.5v suppling power correctly.

Any help would be much appreciated!

If it's only the fret buttons being supplied with a different power source and not something like the main circuit board, I think you'll be okay. I wouldn't try powering your explorer board with the new power source.
There are two other potential challenges you'll face for this mod. I'm not sure if the wireless main circuit board fits into the explorer body perfectly. You may need to fabricate some new mounts for it. The other problem is synching up the fret button wires. I think they are wired a bit differently and also may not be recognized by your new board. You'll need to experiment around with this a bunch to get it to work.
I would make sure all the electronics work perfectly before even thinking about trying to phisically fitting everything in place. Let me know if you figure it out and make sure to take pictures and detail your work if you can .

But to you and everyone else reading this, this thread is only a reference for existing mods.
If you want to discuss what paint jobs you want to do or any other wacky ideas you have, please start your own thread.

*edit* I just noticed that you did, thanks.

I added an alternate (and IMO safer) method for adding the tapping switch to the end of the scorehero post regarding this somewhat risky (for soldering novices) mod- If you like, I can enter it as a seperate and more detailed topic in the forum to be linked on this sticky.

Hey BriGuy, I have two Lefty Flip Mods that I didn't see in your sticky...

Code:

[url=http://www.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=783]SG Lefty Flip[/url]

I'm trying to get a Custom Paint Job Thread going and I'd rather you have all the modifications in this thread.
