GH2 - S5 - Xbox - Expert Playoffs - Winner: LeonOnirac

Welcome to the Xbox Expert League playoffs!

Each round of the playoffs is one song and lasts ~3 days. All contestants play the song as much as they can during the challenge period and PM me their best score along with % and notestreak. There are no twists, beat the score of the person you are bracketed against to advance.

Persons marked as 'alternates' can send a score for the first round, and will get placed into the bracket if there are no-shows among the bracketed people. Note that the bracket assignments may change based on drop-outs - I will slide all the seeds down and add alterantes at the highest seed. All such movements are done before i look at any actual scores to preserve fairness.

All scores are due at midnight pacific time (3:00 AM eastern) on either wed night/thurs morning or on sat night / sunday morning.
Late scores will earn you a forfeit.

as far as other people who posted scores every week i am only 3rd from last which is 2 higher than i expected. great season andrew (should i play hard next time?)

So here I was joining this league on a lark, just because I'm a competitive person and the idea intrigued me. Having had the game for just over three months, with the memory of selecting hard difficulty and almost failing HSB because I couldn't figure out how to hit the stupid orange fret still fresh in my mind, I decided I would be happy as hell if I could just make the playoffs. I knew I had gotten pretty decent, but I was actually a little worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up with the people here in Expert.

Now, here I am in 4th place, with a good seed (although I drew an opponent who is certainly no pushover), and a real chance of advancing 1 or 2 rounds.

This league has made me so much better at this game, it's kind of scary.

To give you an idea, here is my "score history" that I took down for "YYZ" last week. Every time I improved my score, I wrote it down:

211,368 / 96% / 275
252,436 / 98% / 556
254,538 / 97% / 317
256,800 / 99% / 351
268,017 / 98% / 333
273,424 / 99% / 571
276,604 / 99% / 628

Each and every one of these scores was a personal best at the time. And these results are fairly typical. Now I'm actually starting to get scores in the top 10 here (my FC of "Drink Up" actually landed me 3rd place), and have been fairly steadily climbing the ranks based on my league score submissions alone.

So, take this long-ass post as a public thank you to rabies and the other organizers and administrators of the league; you've helped make me improve a great deal and have a lot of fun in the process.
