If you move that first activation back a RB chord, then you could possibly squeeze that final RB chord.(which is 200 pts. more!!!11!1!!)

I think I've gotten it at least 5 times.

Optimal Path:

4- Start of Solo A
2- First GY chord of measure 70

Path if you can pass solo w/ out SP and won't keep 4x combo's

2- 3rd RB chord of measure 20
3- This one is a bit tricky, only whammy enough of the chord to use it the instant you got the 3rd SP, and doesn't overlap the next one
2- 2nd blue hold

Shouldn't star power be used in the solo (assuming you're getting an FC) since that's where 174/540 are?

I've been seeing all kinds of incorrect paths posted throughout this thread. Here are the important paths for Because It's Midnite (clicking on the first two will open images for them):

1. Optimal FC path: 4-2
This is the path Atremains (and anyone else actually trying to FC the song) should use. This is also the path anyone who needs a full bar of SP to pass the solo should use.

2. Standard scoring path: 2-3-2
This is the path most players who can pass the solo without SP should use. No star power is used in the solo (where you will presumedly not have a multiplier).
A few notes:
- As hsatakeit pointed out, it is possible to get an extra note in the first activation by starting two chords earlier and hitting a very tough squeeze to the second to last chord before the next SP phrase. I do not recommend attempting this squeeze unless you believe you will hit it at least 50% of the time.*
- If you are not confident whammying and activating precisely enough not to run over the sixth SP phrase or have SP end too early, just don't whammy the fifth phrase at all, and activate just before the chords start again. You will only miss out on a few hold points.

3. Path for those who can't pass the solo without SP: 2-2-2
I don't have an image for this one, but the path goes as follows:
2 - same as first activation of path #2
2 - use in solo to avoid failing
2 - same as last activation of path #1
I suppose this would also be a good path for anyone who can combo 4 consecutive measures of the solo but not the rest of it.

There is no reasonable path for this song aside from these 3, assuming you aren't breaking combo outside of the solo. If you are using some different path, switch to whichever one of these applies to you and your score will go up.

*If you hit this squeeze, you will gain 200 points relative to the path as posted, and if you miss it, you will lose 200 points relative to the posted path. Since there is so much variability in how you will perform in the solo, it is almost certainly not worth restarting the song over and over until you hit the first squeeze. Thus, if the chance you will hit the squeeze (and gain rather than lose 200 points) is greater than 50%, go for it; otherwise, don't.

dude on the first page, where are those pics from? are those your scores, because how the hell did you get EXACTLY 100,000 and 200,000 on jordan? I've never even had a score like xxx,000 before,
how am i supposed to believe that you did it twice?

and i want an explanation out of the guy who got 100% on Because, it's midnite. or at least a vid of his fingers in action. cause that's nearly implausible.

if you Star Power right on the first note of the solo, you get more star power in the Hold, increasing your score. Then I've noticed if you Star Power right on the "BECAUSE ITS MIDNIGHT!" part, you'll be able to get the first note of the ending if you whammied long enough on the "Champagne Glass" bit.

This may make 200k possible.

I 5*'d this on my first try, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't by much. I started SP at the beginning of the solo, then flailed wildly and afterward said "What the hell was that?" I got 33% on Solo C. And I 5*'d it. WTF.
