|
|
Edit: Please add this to the advanced mods sticky.
Circuit board and controls added for auto whammy and pulsating star power activated by pedal switch. Auto whammy circuit activated by red push button and control knob varies between 2 and 5 whammies per second. Star Power is activated by foot pedal pressed and held down which pulses SELECT circuit 5 times per second for near-instant star power activation as soon as Star Power is available. Using the Co-op cord, you can also activate the other guitar simultaneously - No shouting "Now" needed!

Mod Instructions:
DO NOT ATTEMPT UNLESS YOU WANT TO RISK DESTROYING YOUR GUITAR, DO NOT ATTEMPT UNLESS YOU UNDERSTAND THE INSTRUCTIONS, THIS MOD WILL NOT WORK IF ANYTHING IS WRONG.
All supplies EXCEPT the Opto-isolators and foot pedal can be bought at Radio Shack. I got Opto-isolators from eBay, Frys also has them. Foot pedal came from a garage junk box???. Any single-pole-single-throw (SPST) switch mounted so you can press it with your foot will work. An old guitar distortion pedal can be modified to work.

1x Circuit Breadboard ----------- 1.79
2x 555 IC timers ----------------- 1.69 each
3x Opto-isolator NPN ICs ------- 1.49 each

Excellent work.
You wouldn't happen to have a wiring diagram/ how to guide in the works for the auto wammy, by chance?
While it would be filed under "advanced" mods for sure, I think it might be one of the most valuable mods available. _________________
