Everybody can stop playing this song now. I had 6th place as of 3 days ago...now I'm 9th.
Just...you know. Go play somethin else. Please. _________________

So there's been no discussion about this song in nine months, and the current top score is ~2700 above rabies' score with his posted path.
I just had perfect, and I mean PERFECT execution on my path that I just drew up, and I am still 2,400 behind the current 1st (brites, malictus, I'm looking in your directions). Oddly enough, it pulls nearly the exact score that people were getting with rabies' path. I'm completely stumped. Here's my path:
Thunder Kiss '65 Hard - Mediocre SP Strategy
(ignore the first red box, you ARE supposed to whammy fully...but the second red box is appropriate) _________________

I followed Rabies' path, except I whammied the holds longer and activated earlier in the fourth and fifth activations.
By the way, did you get the squeeze you highlighted in the second to last activation? I can't remember how many notes I squeezed, but I have one note less under SP there in my chart, so I may not have gotten it. I also could've gotten it and simply not fixed my chart to reflect that, but I wouldn't know without playing it again. |

I'm thinking that you did (the R note of 106). I got it in my most recent run which only beat yours by ticks (my pre-solo whammy activations ran out right on time) so unless you happened to squeeze an extra note in the third verse, you must have gotten that squeeze.
Looks like exactly what we both used...a few minor things though:
- Third activation lasts to the green right before m45
- If you whammy the holds early on the next SP (m48, m49, m50) you can activate on the 4th beat of the GY hold instead of the 5th
- The 2nd to last activation I always started on beat 2 of m81 (the double greens) - I'm not sure if it gets an extra note or not, but it might!
- Aforementioned red sustain note squeeze on m106 _________________

A quick tip: To get the 2nd activation, push the notes that have SP later! It seems evident, but I was wasting my time strumming the notes before the SP ends _________________

i am going to try this path out.
http://fwrestling.com/host/rnlhutch/thunderkiss65_hardpath.png
edit- after trying it out. it sucked ass, lol.
i'll try a different path later,.
btw yes i do not whammy the stars for the second activation and the third activation is tricky, you whammy the first two chords then stop whammying for the last chord as soon as you got SP Ready, then activate about 3/4's of the way through the chord.
don't whammy any of the star holds in the next activations set either. then whammy the heck out of the rest and go where indicated at the end.
i'm goin to tweek this in a bit and try something better.
