Oh. Fuck. YES! | I'm playing the translated version right now, and my gosh is it 50x better when you can actually understand the dialogue.
Very minor spoiler, but is anyone else that has played the M3 English translation bothered that they called Yokuba Fassad in the final translation? It's probably me since I'm way too used to playing with him called Yokuba. _________________

I booted up Mother 3 and patched it last night. I'm gonna take this game nicccccce and slow; really enjoy it as much as I can.
Heres what I named my characters:
Blond Boy: Goober
Brown Haired Boy: Matt (that's me)
Lady: Marian
Cowboy Guy: Indy
Fav Food: Cookies
Fav Thing: Math
This is gonna be awesome. The music is really good so far. _________________

Harmonix games are just too good not to play them for 8 years. Officially back in action. |

I'm seriously loving the music. It may even be better than Earthbound's in some spots. |

How would you compare Mother 3 to Earthbound? I loved the style of Earthbound (and the horribly disturbing ending), but didn't like the rediculous grind. _________________

Tough question, but if you love Earthbound, odds are you'll love this. It has the same graphical style, the same sense of humor, and all sorts of familiar stuff - music, enemies, references to Earthbound, etc. The biggest difference would be that this is a more serious and darker game.
I might have grinded once or twice in Earthbound, probably in the beginning, but only once in Mother 3. I needed a certain spell for a boss because I didn't like seeing 2/3rds (or more) of everyone's HP disappear. Even that grinding was quick and painless.
All that said, epic game is epic. _________________

How can you possibly get darker than Earthbound's ending? _________________

Whoa. I bought Earthbound ages ago and loved it, and tried looking up sequel info. When I heard Mother 3 was Japan-only, I pretty much gave up hope of ever playing it. Thanks to this thread, my hope has been restored. Just finished patching it, and can't wait to play through Mother 3 finally. Thanks again! |

The theme that plays at the very beggining of ch 2, when the mission to the castle is being explained, is pure awesome. Really get's me pumped up each time it comes up in the game.
I'm at the beggining of Ch7 now. I play on playing the shit out of this tonight, maybe I can finish!
Fucking still love Mother 3. _________________

SERIOUSLY. I have had that exact tune stuck in my head all day today. It's so amazing. Just such a sense of something big about to happen. So intense!
