I thought my star power plan was pretty good, but I'm still 30K behind the top score. Normally I don't care about getting a high score beyond hitting all the notes, but that's a pretty big difference! What gives? _________________

Alright I'll end the mystery. Here's an image showing my star power path I used. You should whammy every starred hold as much as possible, but the critical holds that you MUST whammy for their entire duration (to gain two additional SP activations) are shown in red.
Story Of My Love - Hard
Let me know if you find a way to improve on this path. I have a lot of wasted star power toward the end that I couldn't figure out how to use.
Now everyone can go beat my score, enjoy. _________________

Huh. I didn't think you could squeeze enough star power out of those holds... that does make a big difference. Oh well. _________________

The obvious solution would be to get that last set of GY to RB chords to activate star power just like you did the first two times...so as not to waste all the star power from the OR chords at the end....
...but like you, I was completely unable to whammy enough to fill my star power that last time. What gives? Common sense says that it should be the same as the first two..
I also kept flubbing the rhythm on the single note sequence in the end..preventing me from getting 100% (so far), but even at 99%, your strategy was enough to catapult me to 2nd place over many who got 100% _________________

The last set of long holds is 7 beats, not 7.5.. so it's impossible to get a half bar. _________________

Photoshop. I added a brightening adjustment layer to brighten the SP parts by 50%.

ahh..so there you go. I didn't analyze the note chart in detail enough to notice the diff.
...makes me feel kinda stupid for trying a half dozen times. _________________

I actually can't manage to squeeze that star power out. I get right on the line, but no star power activated. _________________

It is possible, trust me. You need to whammy from the very beginning of the holds. _________________

Set your hand up so you can strum and press the whammy bar in the same hand motion. If you strum and then reach for the whammy bar, it's not usually fast enough. _________________

That had to be the most infuriating song to FC because of those 2 SPs. I strum with my middle finger, not my thumb, so I had to switch to playing with my thumb in order to get those 2 SPs. Not easy I must say. _________________
