Not sure if anyone can test this but:
On the Easy FAQs, they said that the first SP note can give you just enough SP for an activation if you squeeze it early. However, I believe JCirri said that the allowed timing for notes is dependent on the scrolling speed of the notes, which is fast on Expert. Does this eliminate the possiblilty of that first SP activation? |

It at least makes it harder ... I tried a few times on hard and didn't get it. Feel free to see if you can.
Even if you could use it, would you want to? It doesn't seem better, point-wise. |

It would still be interesting to know if it is possible or not if someone wants to thoroughly test it on Hard and then on Expert if Hard is proven possible. _________________

You know what? I don't think it is. I should stop and look at these damn note charts once in a while instead of trusting my half-assed, on-the-spot SP strategies. |

This is an ignorant comment since I haven't truly studied the SP in this song on expert, but...why not? If you had 4 measures worth of SP (and you certainly wouldn't have more,) activate it for the held orange note, and you'll get a total of 52 notes in the 3 measures after that and have it fade just in time for the succeeding star notes. By contrast, those same 4 measures afterwards is 56 notes without that hold. Granted, the held orange would have to be 6 beats rather than the 4 that it is to simply equalize, but it might affect the path down the road, which may be worth the loss of 50 points. |

I am missing 1-2 notes (together) and getting 312,000..... Please tell me how to better use SP, as those two notes clearly arent worth the 15,000 I am missing. |

Each miss is worth about 7K. *shrugs*
Either way, I get 323K and I miss 1 or 2 notes per run. Make sure on the second star power activation that you wait for the verse again (I think you'll have a full bar before this). Don't hit the SP during the chorus. _________________

the most i've gotten with missing one note is 330k. it was in the first section of the solo, not under star power activation, and there wasn't any chords. i'm estimating that if you miss one note, and everything after that until a 4x multiplier is a single note, you're missing about 5k. _________________

The Scoring System FAQ says you miss 3200 points in that situation. _________________

Well, maybe you should learn to squeeze better :P
And while you're at it, go get the high score for Smoke on the Water. I won't get that anytime soon. |

ok i tested it, it is 100% possible to use the 1st star power. You need to hit it about a 1/4 beat early and hold the note completely, but it definitely works
After you get it, use it on the Orange hold, and dont whammy the next 3 SPs and activate it immediatly
It is about 2000 points better I think, but I havent get 100% using it, so someone should test it |
