20K behind a good score. I realize I haven't gotten 100% yet (keep missing a random note) (TROGDOR!!!)
Looked at shart and here is my path I want to use. Please critique. Any advice would be helpful.
1 - after 2 sp - use it during opening melody
2 - after 3rd sp with full whammy - use it during 1st chorus melody
3 - after 2 sp - use after 5 bars into 2nd melody (about measure 88)
side question - Is it possible to get sp on 4th sp whammy? I haven't been able to get this, and it looks just too short. If you can get this sp, that would change my strategy.
4 - after 1 sp full whammy - use at 4th chorus phrase, about meas. 110
5 - Here is where I don't know the better path
5A - after 2 use after Y sustain meas. 128
6 after 2 (final) use immediately
or
5B - after 3 sp, use immediately and lose the 10th and final sp
5C - can you whammy 9th sp for a SP activation?
any suggestions _________________

I'm at work so I'll try my best to remember the path I used
1. get 3 sp and use it on the next RY note.
2. get 2 sp use it in the middle of one of the yellow holds, fool around with it so you can get as close to the next star without going over it, I think it's the yellow hold right after a blue note.
3. get 1 sp and use it on the 2nd blue hold.
4. get 2 sp and use it on the 2nd yellow hold (I'm not sure about that one)
5. get 2 sp and use it at the green notes.
Good luck, hope that gets ya above 210,000. |

Ok guys i need help with tis one, this is my current path(or at least on my last run) complete with he squeezes that i hit ended up as 218530, obviously not right being 1.3k less than the leader
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/8061/sweetchildguitarmediumccl7.png
the only points i see at all are by moving my last activation one note farther in *frustrated* _________________

Lock box how to read these things was vague, but I think I get your meaning. Going through (hopefully) optimum star power pathes (strategies), the same basic ideas are presented several ways.
Some users refer to videos of the song played with the high score. Hit the link of look at top scores for a song and hit the video link there. Pay attention to how many sp phrases are obtained before activating, where iit is activated and whether or not the sp holds are whammied.
Sometimes users download the chart given in the first post for any song by Jcirri. Then they draw the activations as boxes or colored squares. The boxes or colors indicate exactly when to start (tilt or select) the activation. The start points are usually more accurate than when it ends.
Sometimes the best path is just given in blocks of sp, such as Cdw01's
2-1-1-2-2-2.
That means get 2 sp pharases, use it, get 1 sp (will have to whammy the sp holds to get at least a half meter), use it, get 1 sp whammy it, use and so on and so on. Not everyone has time to make a chart and post it and sometimes the path is fairly obvious and a chart isn't needed so much, hence just the numbers. Still others want the user to do some work on their own to figure it out and the blocks are just a starting point.
good luck making sense of it all. If you are new at this, do not be surprised when you follow a path as good as you can, and find out you are thousands short of the top score. These guys are really good at this and top scorers have near perfect technique. It's not the path, it's the performance a lot of times.
Also, read as many stickies as you can in the gameplay and other sections for really good tips. Malictus had a good one about improving your score beyond 100%. Good luck with the squeezing thing. _________________

For actual technique, I just leave my whole hand over the whammy bar, so that I can instantly close down on it and not lose any. _________________
