The star power path i used to tie the top score is this:
* Get first two SP phrases,
* Wait past three YO chords, and engage just before the double orange note, this SP should last you up tot he end of the YO section.
* Get the next two SP phrases, and hold onto it for a while
* After the bridge with the O sustain, engage right before the first RY chord (in the whistle solo section)
* Grab the next three SP phrases
* Engage just before the first YO Chord (this activation mught noe be optimum)
Notes:
- Through the O/YO sections you can leave YO held down the enitre time.
- In the whistle solo section you can leave RY held down and just tap the orange button to hit hte single orange notes (effectively making a three button chord RYO). Watch out for hte one spot where theres a solo red note (not RY chord) |

So, considering this is just about the only hard topic with SP advice, I'll update with a better strategy:
1. 2 SP phrases, activate two measures (or, as Barfo said, three chords, all the same) after, before the double orange note.
2. 3 SP phrases, last one in the RY chord section, activate instantly. It wears off just before the next star power notes.
2. 2 SP phrases, activate two measures into the YO/O section, before or after the fourth chord. Doesn't really matter which, since if you miss that one you get another at the end.
I'm sure someone can squeeze both of the chords in that last one, and maybe there's a possibility of a squeeze in the first one too. Or maybe even I hit one or the other on my run, don't really know since I'm too busy concentrating on the notes even at this level. ;-) Probably Echelar can tell if it's possible.
(PS. I'm no longer a forum virgin. Lol. Bah. ERrrrr. Hi.) |

Here's my path (mostly the same as tpalkki's), which tied me with 3 others for 1st and is probably optimal.

I'm trying out a new, more detailed way of showing paths - let me know if you like it. _________________

I like it a lot, the score checkpoints are very helpful. I was -200 at the first break, and then ended -600. I'll have to learn what exactly squeezing is...
Went from 500th+ on this to 18th in 30 minutes though, thanks to your chart. _________________

Yep, if you're coming up that close to the max score, that essentially means you are doing everything right, but just missing the squeezes. Check my 'Beyond 100%' sticky topic up in the Technique section of the forum for information on how to squeeze. _________________

I can't seem to get squeezing down because I got 209850 like 5 times in a row. I use my SP exactly where the path says. I guess I just need to practice squeezing. |
