I get the first 4 SP to build up a full meter and then use it pretty much immediately (you can squeeze a note in if you like). It will last through half of the chorus. Then I get the next 2 SPs and use it after a 5 or 6 note delay. I then get the next three SPs (sometimes I can only get the first and third, the second one's a tough cookie) - so probably get the 1st and 3rd and use immediately. Only two more left I think. Get them and use it; the song will run out.

That strategy got me 176000 points. By the way, sorry I didn't draw a chart of it. I'm feeling lazy.

I just tried it out and after a couple run throughs, I got 174,000 points. I can do a little better, but I'll leave like that for now. Thanks for the strategy.

Yeah, I've just always played the song like this. It seemed like a pretty logical way to do it. So I was happy when I got a competitive score at the song.

I tried it last night, but I couldn't get a good run without missing easy parts. I'll try again tonight. Thanks for the tips!

I think they are 16th notes just like in Texas Flood on the orange SP part.

16th triplets, 6let really. So, so simple to hit when you know the rhythm.

1234561234561

that's it. now go full combo it.

edit: when they find me here i'll be sitting at my desk with a gun in my hand wearing a bulletproof vest, singing my my my how the time does fly when you know you're gonna die by the end of the night!

used to play trombone in a ska band, rock on

Speaking of lyrics, why did Red Octane take out the lyrics for this song, did they think it was better as an instrumental? wtf.

some kid on Gamefaqs emailed Red Octane, here's what he got

Hi,

I checked with the experts here, and this is the response:

“There is a board of directors that manages the estate of Jimi Hendrix (including all of the licensing) and they included a clause in the license agreement giving them final approval of the sound-alike recording. They were unhappy with the lead vocal that WaveGroup recorded and, despite a handful of re-records (we even tried a female vocalist in an attempt to make it sound like an obvious cover), we ended up going instrumental to satisfy the board.”

The joys of music licensing …. ;-)

Rock on,

-Mike
-------------------------

that's the end of that chapter

What a sad story... there's a video on google video of some guy playing it Live (cover of course) and his voice sounded pretty freaking accurate, if I could only find the link, they should've used this guy, and it was Live so he probably sounded just like Jimi if he sang in the studio...

nevermind, it's been a while since I saw it I guess I remembered wrong, this guy's voice is a little deeper...

Now that I'm done spamming, I'm gonna go and try to FC this song

I don't know if this is 100% correct at all, I just used my crappy photographic memory to remember the general areas I use SP on this song. I am still trying to get this path perfected, but here is a general guide I guess. I made this from looking at the note chart JCirri and Echelar supplied, and again it's a prototype and just a generalization guideline. I can't remember how long half SP 3/4 SP or whole SP bars last. I guessed that whole sp lasted 6 measures, but i can't remember exactly what it was.....

This is also my first attempt at making one of these and I used Paint Shop Pro 8 'cuz my 10 trial ran out.... and Photoshop 7 downloads result in viruses. Hope this helps some though...

Alright the host is being stupid, I'm going to make another one and should have it up by tomorrow. Sorry.
