it's funny saying that because i'm the guy all my friends come to when they need a song beat |
best way that works for me is go G, O, B, Y, and hold the YB. Strum G & YB
questions? |
Personally it confuses me totally to strum only G and BY... it's all a matter of point of view, but I realized, watching many people playing, that the best way to play a song for you variates according to wether you are visual, auditive, or kynesthetic.
Being auditive, kynestitic then visual, I base myself on what I hear (The song, its tempo) and try to transmit it to my 2nd channel : my fingers, while 3rd channel just watches the repetitive note streak (watching your fingers on the frets is surely good too, no matter where you stand in the VAK thing...).
This is why in most cases, playing something too much different from what I hear disconcentrates me. I you listen to the riff carefully you'll hear that the 0 is louder than the G and YB, which is totally normal cause the 0 is placed on the tempo, while G and YB are dephased by a 16th. So what I do is strum the 3 notes, hitting 0 louder everytime...
I think I could actually practice hitting the 0 note on the fret pad loud enough to keep me in the beat, but struming only notes that are placed between 8th's while I hear a stressed note every 4th; way too confusing... _________________

I just need help in solo 1, the trills. For some reason that strumming kills me. |
