It's those silly jungle levels with the motor surfboard thing... The threechords sound exactly like it... Now I gotta find that song... _________________

Yeah, it's not the exact song. But when I first played Soy Bomb, I was like "Whoa. Crash Bandicoot 2!" because as luck would have it, I played it for a little while the week GH2 came out. Then when the three note sustains came, I was like "HAHA wow! Now I want to ride a surfboard and jump on hippos." |

It isn't. It's just the final boss music. Don't worry though. I have reliable sources digging stuff up. It'll be a few days though.
Dan, to give you an idea, it starts out with the SAME three note chord, followed by the highest and then the rest of the song continues. It has little bits and pieces of the Elephant Bones strumming in it too, now that I think about it XD
EDIT: Holy shit I found it! Give me a day to upload it.
EDIT 2: Also found an online version. http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/1022/16 |

The real trick to getting the ending is to strum 4 times per measure, watching where the measure lines are. Just keep the beat, and say to yourself "1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4", etc. all while watching the measure lines (the thicker ones). I've FC'd it every single time since I figured that out. _________________

Haha, just listened to that song. Reminds me of Misirlou and Soy Bomb mixed together. Surf Rock for the lulz. _________________

This looks way different than JCirri's. Any confirmation on which is best? |

Wow. The program's path just edges out JCirri's path. First, note that the first activation and the last two are the same as JCirri's, except the program isn't accounting for the tougher squeezes some of the top players can hit. (The first activation may seem different - I had noticed before that starting on the red note in m14 in the first activation was better than the typical starting place unless you got the entire yellow hold under SP at the end. The program obviously doesn't think that is possible.)
In the second, third, and fourth activations, the familiar path gets 5854 points under SP. If you include the squeeze from the RYB in 77 to the RBO in 83 (which is possible, but the program doesn't think so), the program's path gets 6035 points under SP in those activations. Thus, successful execution of the new path will yield 724 additional points. I will update my site with the new path shortly. [edit - site updated.]
When I was finding all the optimal paths for my site, I tried like crazy to bust the familiar path for this song (that third activation just looks awful). I even looked at paths that overran the fourth phrase, but I don't think I ever tried activating at measure 59.
[edit] Yep. Just took 1st place on Soy Bomb with this path, modified to include the 3-chord squeeze. _________________

dude that is pretty. so wait i'm confused. is that the program the computer came up with or yours? I'm too lazy to look at what the computer said. But yes after trying soy bomb twice it definitely is the better path. I just missed all the squeezes but I saw where they would be. I might have to try tommorow when I'm not so tired.
Edit: you know people are going to squeeze the shit out of those hold points on the triple chords. _________________

All credit to the program on that one. The only change I made on my (short-lived, I'm sure) 1st place score from the program's path is to back up a chord and get the 3-chord squeeze in the 4th activation. _________________

So which chord are you activating on? The RYB? I've gotten every squeeze but that one. |

I activated on the RYB, but you could move it back a chord as well for the same number of points - either way, the squeezed chords are exactly 6 measures apart. It is definitely a tough squeeze - you have to whammy very early, hit the first chord late, and the last chord early. _________________

Alright it must be the whammy because I'm as late and early as possible. |
