Yeah, it's too long to just glide on your star power. My advice is to try your best to go in with a good crowd meter and a full bar of SP. The notes before the end solo contain 4 star powers, so that's easily possible.
If you can ride a few measures before you have to use it, then get a full bar in... then you only have to survive a few more measures at the end. _________________

I would have to say that you should make sure that you understand the pattern, the way it tends to go:
DA da da, DA da da da da, DA da da da da
DA da da, DA da da da da, DA da da da da...
If you can understand this (maybe the VGS Player may help, go to http://home.rochester.rr.com/gendreau/vgsplayer to get it), then your fingers are more likely to use the right timing, prolonging your crowd's tolerance. I'm assuming you are asking for help to pass the song, so it may not be perfect, but it should help. |

Try just strumming on the 8th notes:
DadaDA DAdaDAdaDA DAdaDAdaDA
If you roll your fingers it will 9/10 times give a pulloff, and you will never find yourself hitting the red. _________________

You don't play all the notes... the motif is this pattern:
432_43432_43432_
repeated at different pitches. Ignore the red notes and play:
43__4343__4343__
then
32__3232__3232__ and 54__5454__5454__, etc.
Your rock meter will fall slowly enough that you won't need to use star power until the bridge in the middle of the solo (and I don't know what the pattern is there) and it should be smooth sailing from there.
If my friend InvadErGII saw this thread, he'd say the same thing--he beat it for the first time using this strategy. _________________

It makes sense for passing the song, but it is definitely not a good strategy for score. Do what you want for now, but keep in mind that if you want a 5-star, you'll have to learn it eventually. |

I can pass it, I just needed the help there so I can 5 star it. I mean, I do very good in the rest of the song (Including the 1st solo) and I lose everything in the end. Thanks for the help though. |

If you're working on a 5*, I'd work on the rest of the song. To actually get good points in the end you'd have to have a streak. It seemed much easier to me to just rack a zillion points up elsewhere. I think I only get 10k in the end solo or so.
Edit: I think my target score was 100-120k by the time the first round of chorus comes in (when he actually sings 'bark at the moon'). _________________

The cutoff is proven on the song stats page here, as 233,142. _________________

Can anyone put up the best SP strategy? Someone posted it before, but I forgot where it was posted. |

Other than Phr34k posting his video(s), I don't think anyone posted a strategy. So I'll put up a picture of what I use (which is what he used in his most recent video, as well).
Blue = Use SP
Red = Don't whammy
I assume you can figure it out from there.

So... what about the end of the first solo, am i the only one having trouble with that?
And raise your hand if you wish the end solo was as easy to play in this game as it is on a real guitar ::raises hand:: _________________

how do you do the solo on a real guitar? isn't it just switching back and forth between strings number 5 and 6 and then repeating triplets? |
