Somebody feel my pain...
This song would be an easy 100% if not for this damn riff.
I finally figured out the single note (Y-G-R sequence) rhythm thanks to vgsplayer (it was not intuitive at all for me), and as a result, I can now nail the riff when it ends with the RY chords ... but the moment you have to execute the YB or worse, the BO chords...plink, plink plink....
This riff is tough..but I see there are several who have 100% this song....
any tips/fingering advice? Was it just a matter of practicing it repeatedly for you? ...or did you never find it difficult? |

Until recently, I was the same way. I couldn't even combo the ones ending in RY. Finally I decided to learn it, and went from 180k to a 280k 100% in 2 days.
The keys to hitting the section is to first learn the strum timing, which isn't too bad. Just 4 strums pretty fast.
Then, the hard part is making sure you finger the YB and BO ones right. Whenever I missed, I usually let up on the red before the chord too soon. So, make sure you hit that red, then jump to the chord. Play it late if you have to. _________________

This is more a mental focus type thing...but my suggestion is to play the Y-G-R sequence (that comes before the YB and BO chords) in your mind as if the YB and BO aren't coming up. This will really help you to articulate the Y-G-R so you don't let up on any of them too early. Then, make sure that you've got your ring and pinky together in the air right over the fret buttons you're about to hit (YB or BO), and concentrate on "snapping" them down together...really articulate those chords with your left hand, like really focus on that. Make sure for the BO chord that you stretch your hand so that the ring finger and pinky are right over those fret buttons...I don't recommend actually shifting your hand up on that. This is mostly all a different way of thinking about playing it, but hopefully it will help you. Good luck, man. _________________

Yeah this is one of those songs where the new practice mode would really come in handy... |

More like "One of those songs that shouldn't be in the game". |

Agree with ^^, although I can 5-star it. It's one of my better songs, actually...probably because I'm the only one who enjoys playing it enough to do it repeatedly. If I could get the BO part of the second main riff down solid, I'd probably FC this thing. |

For me, BO is the easy part...I can't do the YGR part. my middle finger doesn't work so I never get the R to work. |

Do you mind me asking your fingerings for the .... BO YGR YB YGR RY (when you come down... I'm fine going up, but my fingers get crazy coming back down). |

I HO/PO the YGR and snap my ring and pinky fingers for BO and YB and snap my middle and ring fingers for RY. Works for me. _________________

Ok, thanks ES. I'll give that a try. I just get really frustrated that I can't play this song. I appreciate it! |

Rabies, try downstrumming that part like what I did. It will make it a lot easier. Trust me. |
