Raining Blood 5* Expert Guide

my 5* run was so out of the ordinary
I hit the sp in mosh1, like I often do, and then I hit the sp in verse, and since I was destroying verse (hadn't missed yet), I decided to activate there, and held an 8x through my sp use. Awesome. So then mosh 2 comes, and I flunk sooo hard. I missed every

luckily I was up bigtime on pts because of the verse awesomeness
so then i nearly fc all of bridge and chorus.
and the strumming in flood
activated flood for the first long trill.
I basically did well in parts I usually do poorly and poorly in mosh 2, and got the 5*. Not the typicaly way of getting the 5*, is all I'm saying. Usually ppl need that mosh 2 sp activation. I never even got a 50ns in mosh 2 and still got the 5*.

Yeah, my first 5 star run was pretty exceptional as well. It went like this:

Pre Mosh- fc (50k)
Mosh 1- near fc under sp (100k)
bombed verse, but got sp (115k)
fced mosh 2 with activation (160k)
fced up to chorus, missing sp (180k)
decent in chorus and flood green streak (205k)
comboed enough in flood to JUST squeak by 5 star cutoff (227+ticks, not even kidding)

Just posting that, since i was so close to the cutoff, to show that there IS some leniency in this song. BUT you MUST be able to hold a very good combo in pre mosh, mosh 2/chorus, and either mosh 1/verse.

Ive 5 starred pretty much every song in the past week on expert from 3 stars but now, I cant seem to even get past 140k on Raining Blood -.- I've screamed out my window that I'm going to kill Neversoft. I think this is getting out of hand. I can manage drizzle

Get lost on hard rain, sometimes fc, sometimes get the first star power on mosh 1, but then get instantly booed off. Its driving me insane. Please help (:

Great guide btw, the paths will help me if I can get past mosh 1.

can someone help me with the chords in 'Verse' because I really cannot combo verse because of them. If I could hit these chords I reckon i could 5*

thanks:P I'll try those suggestions :P the verse is stopping me from a 2-2 activation,or a 2-3 if i get lucky in mosh 1 :P

EDIT: ugh im stuck at around 170K because I can't get the mosh sp or the verse... and it doens't make a difference whether i activate in mosh 2 or hard rain. I FCed mosh 2 3 times in a row in practise, now i can't combo it in a real run.

You dont need Mosh 1, just get to Mosh 2 with 130k or so, activate THREE SP PHASES (?) in CHORUS (CHORDS!) Forget about Flood, its not worth it, IMO..

I kinda cheated my 5*...well not really but did it in an unorthodox way. Miss the last few notes in Hard rain and tap Mosh 1. After that it was just a matter of strumming well and making sure all the sections that ive mostly perfected in training pieced together well.

Got 239k for my first 5* on it

If I remember correctly...

Around 45k before Mosh 1
Around 80k going into Verse
Around 135k coming out of Mosh 2
Around 210k entering Flood after the fast strumming

Those could be way off but im pretty sure thats how it went. Oh and make sure that you can combo everything from the 2nd to last SP phrase up to the final SP phrase and activate SP on the chords before Flood (try and get 3 SP phrases before that point).

i can easy combo up to mosh 1, but i can't really combo anything else. (i fced mosh 2 3 times in a row in practise, but i haven't fced it once in a real run. And i just totally suck at verse and bridge)

Tips: (From most important)

#1: Learn the chorus, and use 4 SP phrases in those chords. FCing the chords under SP give 51.2k points. If you aren't consistent with the SP in Mosh 1 or the one in the verse, you should ONLY activate in the chords for maximum points. If you are, activate in hard rain, then in the chords.

#2: Learn the bridge. You will activate in the chords, so you absolutely want to have a 4x when activating.

#3: Learn Mosh 2. Every time you miss there, you lose between 5 and 6k points.

#4: Try to hit Mosh 1 SP. The first few notes of Mosh 1 are slower, take advantage of that.
