Lol sweet, jeez there's some really hard core guitar modders out there :P I wish I could mod mind up a bit, put new bottons in for the frets so I can slide my hand easier... nice though really cool.

i really really like the LED mod and i was wondering if it would be possible to do this with a Rock Band Strat guitar
i can supply pics of the inside and the frets if you would like so u could figure out if it would be possible

and i did read through this whole thread and i saw someone ask if they needed the PIC and u said they didnt but im not sure if u meant that using a PIC made it possible for the frets to light up when u tapped them. would it be possible to still have the LEDs light up without the PIC? (sorry if this has been asked)

Yea, you can do it. You just need to place them right nest to the circuit board, not on the frets. It would look awesome though. I want to paint my neck to look like wood, so I'm not doin it. Good luck with that.

It's not a mass production thing, but it would work on any guitar I think. Have fun with it!

Could you go a little more into detail on the frets? I would love to have those and play at school for a Science project That'd be the funnest 100% I ever got in school ever. Not to mention my mom would totally pay for it since it's school-related. Please do elaborate. My main questions are:
1: Where do you get those transparent frets/how do I make them?
2: After I buy the diodes, what will I do with them?
3: How do I make them light up at the same time I hit the frets?
4: How would I make a switch to turn it off and on?

Thanks.

I agree with this kid I'd use that as my excuse I just need a Fret Button tutorial because that was the sickest thing there. The pick guard was eh after a while due to seizures but the frets I want mine to do that every time I hit a key!

I doubt you'll get a reply. He hasn't posted here in several months, but there are led fret tutorials in Briguy's modding101 thread. Most of them are pretty general, so you have to figure some stuff out for yourself, but once you get some practice with leds and switches, you should be able to figure it out. Best of luck to you.
