I'm working on a path for this, right now I can confirm that the first activation should be 4 (damn I hate wasting whammy) and should be the 2nd to last single 8th note before the Y - (RYB) section starts.

idk if this is optimal. I still can't decide if 3 or 4 is better for future activations. I wanted to have as little SP as possible before the 3/4 time signature part.

Path #1:

3 - sqeeze yellow note in measure 30.
2 - measure 60.
2 - measure 89-90 (depends on amount of whammy of SP phrases).
2 - immediately.
3 - measure 166 (G note after GY chord).
2 - immediately (whammy half of the last BO chord).
1 - measure 220.

Path #2:

4 - G note in measure 47.
2 - Immediately.
2 - Immediately.
3 - 1 beat before 2 Yellow notes in measure 151.
2 - measure 178.
2 - measure 220.

This should net you at least 625k, even if it's not optimal. Now, some of the phrases in the charts show that there are 8 beats of whammy on some of the SP phrases, but the actual chart only has about 6.5 beats of whammy. I think a 1 SP phrase activation is possible on the last activation. If not, just make it a 3 instead of 2 and 1 at the end.

This info has no proof. Someone can tweak this with exact calculations if they want.

based on this, I bet barbaloot can make an optimal path.

EDIT: Created a 2nd path. Idk which one is better.

I've got another path that is strictly for anyone who can whammy like a beast.

1:Squeeze ticks in on before measure 17 (Activation time is crucial to pick up the next SP.)

3: Lone 8th note just before measure 48

3: First note of measure 89

2: activate at the beginning of any measure from 118 - 123

3: Measure 165 approximately, whammy value is uncertain, so Activation point may need to be tweaked. Should end on the 3rd to last :r: in 171.

3: measure 220, squeeze in ticks.

The Way It Ends optimal path

I should point out that starting 1-2-2-2 (as marked on the chart) is better than starting 4-3 by only about half a note, and this assumes you whammy well and hit every squeeze. For many (if not most) players, starting 4-3 would be as good or better (and certainly less risky).

If you want to start 4-3, the first activation should start at the green note in measure 47, and the second activation should start at the beginning of measure 86 (so immediately). Both activations should end on a 3-chord squeeze.

In either case, the path should end with 2-2-2-2. I'm surprised none of the other paths in this thread end that way, because I thought it seemed pretty obvious that that was, erm...the way it ends.

So 3-2 is not the best start? dammit!!!!

Edit, just did the calculations, it's also about a half note behind

Sweet. Now I have a path for when I fix my -1. Thanks.

I was about to post my path...

I was using 1-3-3 insted of 1-2-2-2, but otherwise, I was right

Thanks for the path!

Starting 1-3-3 and 4-3 are about the same (1-3-3 gets a tiny amount of ticks more, with good whammy and squeezing), and both are about half a note inferior to 1-2-2-2, which again assumes good whammying and squeezing.

The path I would use myself would be 4-3 because it is much simpler, and the likelyhood that I would hit every squeeze on the 1-2-2-2 path is very low. Also, if you look at the 1-2-2-2 path, there are two activations that must end right at the beginning of another star power phrase, so it is quite risky. Unless you are aiming for a hardcore squeeze score, I would recommend 4-3 (or 1-3-3) over the optimal path.

For Dualshock players who have trouble with this song...

http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/5616/thewayitendspathkf3.png

1st activation: try to get as many notes as possible under SP
(There's no problem if you miss it, but you know, better restart >_>)
2nd: active whenever you want, but I prefer to use in that "flying penises rain"
3rd: as soon as possible, restart if you overwrite next phrase
(A little tricky, don't lose it)
4th: Most people can't combo in measures 178 and 185, so need to change it, right?
5th: try to get FC this second solo, not too hard

Measures where activations end maybe a little off, but it should be something like that.

Some tips: use two fingers of your right hand (or just your right thumb) to right every note of verses/chorus/bridges. Ignore triple chords. Let your right hand back before SP phrases. If you lost any phrase, restart, there's no need to get tired. In Bridges, whenever comes a lot of yellows or blues, use the "lower buttons tricky" (not very fast).

I hope this help someone...

Don't suck at "squezzing" and take these questions to a different thread.

I know that most people do their first activation on the in M47 and have it end on the in M55, but is it possible to squeeze in the right before the in M47? Because I've squeezed that really far and then squeezed the at the end and the sp went on for quite a while, however I haven't been able to squeeze the in.

Technically, yes. But it's an 8th note double squeeze at 185 bpm. While those are possible at such as low a speed as 135 bpm, this is still VERY hard because of how difficult this song is to squeeze anyway. For reference, the PotR (8th note) double squeezes are at 195 bpm. That's 10 bpm faster (read: easier) than this squeeze. And like I said, at the pace TWIE is going at, it takes serious skills to pull off a good squeeze like this (80% squeeze or so).

When going for 1st place and the league win on this song, I didn't even bother about this squeeze. Still go it (the 1st and the league win, not the squeeze)
