I can't come, because its on the same day as my band concert

sooooo, maybe next time

Damn, I was sorta hoping you'd be coming. I needed someone that I know could own my ass...well, I guess we could always do "Random Drawing" if no one beats me. (I can't just "throw" the competition to one person, b/c that's sorta cheating.)

Well, if any of you show up, make sure you tell me you're from Score Hero. I can hook you up with an extra t-shirt or something cool.

Post up some scores so we can see what the competition is like. =D

I'll have some time tonight and Monday night...I've five-starred all of Hard, if that means anything. Expert, still can't bear Hangar 18, but I haven't tried it more than five or six times.

An hour and a half one-way is kinda a long way for something like this... but I might do this anyway. Could make a roadtrip out of it, and the chance to win the speakers would be worth it. I'll be living in Chicago next month, so on the off chance I win it wouldn't be too hard for me to pick it up.

Is there an easy way to get there via mass transit? Like is it close to a Loop stop or a Metra stop?

edit: and as far as competition goes, today I've been working on 5-starring everything on expert. the only two songs i have left are misirlou (im only 3 stars right now) and jordan (unbeaten :O ).

shhhh. that would make entirely too much sense.

im throwing a bash on monday, so it pretty much depends on how much money i have left over from that. should be more than enough to cover it, though i'll still have to think about it if i wind up having to drive because i have a van that gets shitty gas mileage.

either way i'll probably give in and do it.

do we get to pick songs/difficulty or do you?

I'll let you guys pick either the difficulty or the song. I get to choose the other.

I would love to go to this. Unfortunately, I'm not old enough to drive.

Rule change, FYI. I have to only play on hard, no expert. Sorry, not my call.

Wow, good times. Got beat once b/c a weird brand new SG, and barely squeaked past Cliff.

FYI, Best Buy was very, very happy, and although I cannot guarantee more of these, it sure sounded promising for the near-to-mid future. I'll post any here for sure.

They actually wanted to do medium only, b/c that's "what Activision recommends for all its tournaments".

I convinced them to go to Hard because otherwise there could be quite a few ties, and then we could have a real problem.

Hard is bad enough, but a medium tournament would just be a complete waste of time...

I think it was Huwonk who mentioned sometime ago that he played in a Best Buy tournament, and got knocked out on I Love Rock 'n Roll on medium or something - on the lower levels, (at least for competition purposes) it's got almost nothing to do with skill, and just who happens to get luckier on SP usage...

The only big tournament I've played in they had the intro song on hard, and after that everything was on expert. I really can't wait to play in a GH2 contest, as I think I'm significantly better at GH2 than I ever was at GH1
