Confirm again step 14, because usually the [end] event in EVENTS track is the problem, in that situation...

The song finishes before it starts, and it appears "You rock" message?

I'm...not getting it. I'm trying to put this tab:http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/t/tenacious_d/beelzeboss_ver5_tab.htm into TabIt, but I can't paste it in. What am I doing wrong?

Absolutely nothing except, it just won't work.

You can copy from one .tbt (That's a TabIt file) to another .tbt file, but you can't copy tabs from Guitar Pro (or any other software) or text into TabIt itself. You're going to have to punch in the numbers yourself. From the looks of it, it shouldn't take long if you're familiar with note duration and the song itself.

But, you could just save yourself the time and flip from the text to TabIt instead of copying it into TabIt, note by note. It's note like you're going to need a MIDI of the tab for a note chart, just an idea of how it's actually played on guitar.

It looks right, but from the problem you described it sounds like it is [end] related. I can't tell you what because I don't know myself.

I'm getting frustrated that some people are having problems with my tutorial because I was hoping to solve them, not create more.

I'm having problems myself with one of my songs, but I haven't been able to fix it yet merely because I haven't had time. That's probably what I'll take care of tomorrow.

EDIT: Here's some advice:
Double click the event that says "EndOfTrack" and then click "Delete Event". From the looks of all the successful charts that I've downloaded, they don't have that, so I'm assuming that is what might be causing the early ending.

Thanks man I noticed that after a while, I'm gonna delete and try again

By the way, your tutorial is amazing...I would never have made my own GH songs with out it. Thanks.

I can't get used to tabit, i always use guitar pro but when i use that template it comes up with some error in french or something.

Is it possible to to just flip the notes in tab it and put them in the Guitar hero section.

I mean you have the song above can you flip them so they match up with the 5 string for guitar hero?

Oh and i dont understand your part about the rhythm. Do you have to make a new tabit file?

You probably can't (or at least shouldn't) have the [end] event after the end of the VGS though.

That French error might be saying that you don't have the right version to open up the template. The template gp4 is for Guitar Pro version 4.0.7 so you might have an earlier version.

Judging by the French message, I'm assuming you probably cracked it. If you are more familiar with Guitar Pro, you might as well crack a later version so you can you make charts faster. Just know that's it's a no-no.

I'd rather use TabIt, but that's just me.

That could be a problem, but I've never heard this advice before. If Deediare can confirm it, I can insert it in the tutorial as a notice for creators.

Thanks and you're welcome. It's good to know that it's still doing some good.

I've tried both guitar pro 4 and 5 and they both come up with that message but i found out its not just your template that causes errors.

Im actually getting used to tabit.

Thanks whiskeyface for this fine tutorial. I've now spent a few hours working on my first song--Joe Satriani - Surfing With The Alien.(and I'm only done with the rythym guitar part--LOL)

Had a question. When I merge my midi with the GH2 template in Anvil Studio I get an error 6 and the last minute or so of the track is all scrunched up.

This doesn't happen with the GH1 template though.

Any idea why this is occurring?
