Awesome job, a lot of the harder songs aren't exactly a slouch, even on Hard. |
Thanks man! Those last five songs on Hard took me years to overcome, and it really wasn't until this year that I was able to figure them out.

Meanwhile, BOOYAH, SKINNY! Knew you got that shit! WHOO! |
I don't think he was knocking it all, just saying that the song is one of the harder Hard songs. And thank you for believing in me!

Hooray! I have a friend! Thanks buddy! Glad you got the Hard FGFC as well, along with all of those 1sts!
dramacomic wrote: | AWESOME!!! GH1H is still probably my favorite FGFC so I'm pleased you have it now too. Not surprised in the slightest since I knew you were well on your way, but that certainly doesn't dampen my enthusiasm for this accomplishment :D
Thoughts on your remaining Hard FCs in the O211? Since I'm unwaveringly convinced you're the superior strummer I will nudge you in Misirlou's direction and if you'd rather tackle something from the big 4 then give RaBl and One a go. I still never managed to FC One personally (haven't honestly tried it in ages) but I think you could hack it.
Regardless, congrats again on the excellent GH1H milestone and best of luck in everything else you'll be attempting as you press onward! |
Oh yeah, this achievement is definitely up there for me as well. Thank you, good sir :)
I'll take the humble approach and say that YES, I'm DEFINITELY better at strumming than you. However. strumming on the PS2 is a nightmare. The Xbox engines give me enough leeway to get some really hard strumming songs, but the speed for songs like Misirlou and Six are just impossible for me. I think my best score on Misirlou hard is a -9. And you may recall that the last three songs to 5* on expert were Jordan, Six, and Misirlou. So, needless to say, Misirlou is probably not gonna ever happen, and that's ok. Starting in January I WILL attempt Raining Blood, and start making some progress there. I do have the Tech FC, and I get to actually PRACTICE IT! In, like, practice mode! Screw you GHI! And we'll see what happens with One. I may just be happy getting a run FCing outside of FSA. The last three (Troggy, Misery, and TTFAFy) won't ever happen.
This past week I have just been Re-FCing songs, and getting better scores. Also trying my hand at Crossroads, which could happen before the new year. _________________

Very nicely done! I think since you just fgfcd 1 and therefore know the engine pretty well maybe you could go for a new expert fc? Especially if all you have left on hard are the toughest songs. If wanna keep going for more hard fcs then I think RaBl is definitely the easiest one of those. And maybe a little FSA on the side? Anyway good luck with whatever you decide to do! _________________

It's been a crazy month for me so far, so I haven't worked on Raining Blood too much.
But, I did want to share that I received a message from CBS News in New York, and they wanted to do a piece on the Super Bowl cities. They wanted to include me in the piece because not only do I live in Atlanta, but I have a Guinness World Record to my name.
So, they came and got a couple of shots of me playing Aerosmith, with Mo Rocca as the correspondent. A few hours later we got a couple shots of us eating hot dogs at the Varsity, a mainstay fast food restaurant in Atlanta.
I wanted to let you guys know that you can see me playing Guitar Hero on NATIONAL TELEVISION Friday morning on CBS, sometime between 8-10am.
What kind of life do I have?? _________________

If it wasn't CBS, I'd watch it.
Very happy for you, though. _________________

That much hatred for CBS? How so?
This will probably be up on the interwebs too at some point on Friday. I'll post a link if there is. _________________

What a delightfully random bit of news. Hope to see a link this weekend since I probably won't get a chance to see it live. Either way, congrats on your nationwide TV appearance FC _________________

That was great! A bit of a goofy news segment, but it must have been fun to contribute. Plus this officially makes you one of the coolest claims to fame for Atlanta (but I could have told you that ) _________________

Greetings, fellow Score Heros!
After I got the GHI Hard FGFC, I've been trying my hand at the remaining songs on my list, which are: Raining Blood and One on Hard, and War Ensemble, TDWF, and the Ted Nugent Guitar Duel on Bass. Well, things just aren't happening, and it's really hard to see much progress if any. In fact, I looked at the last time I had a new high score for ANY of the songs I have left, and it's been a long time. Like 4-5 years in a couple cases. I'm just not as quick as I used to be.
So, I have decided that I am going to try my best at THE FIVE (as they shall be called from now on) for the rest of 2017, and if I don't get them, well then that will be that. I shall retire from Guitar Hero by January 1, 2018. I think the time is coming to focus on many new adventures. Like running the NYC Marathon this year! and POSSIBLY climbing Kilimanjaro by 2020. I've also started a trivia business which is slowly gaining speed. And working on my acting career. My plate is pretty full as it is.
I'll be honest, it'll be hard to let go of Guitar Hero. It's a game that has defined my character since I first moved to Atlanta, so to leave a part of me that has existed for over ten years, which includes setting a Guinness World Record, is a tough thing for me to do. But, I feel like the time is right. 8 more months to give these songs one more go, and that'll be that. And I feel comfortable with that decision.
I'd also love to get my Freebird status by the end of the year. That would be really rad too.
Because it's been so long, I'm starting from scratch on THE FIVE and just showing my best scores and note totals from this year, as the FC is all I care about at this point. I'll try and update each week.
Here's the order that I feel like I'm MOST LIKELY to get each one:
1. Raining Blood
2. War Ensemble
3. Ted Nugent Guitar Duel
4. One
5. This Day We Fight!
And here's the order of their IMPORTANCE to me:
1. War Ensemble
2. This Day We Fight!
3. Raining Blood
4. One
5. Ted Nugent Guitar Duel
Why is WE most important? I have a 100% overstrum that I'd REALLY like to erase, as it's the only 100% overstrum song I have remaining.
So, there you have it. Wish me luck this year. I'd be happy to just get one of these songs this year, but again, if it doesn't happen, oh well! _________________

Those are quite the goals you've set yourself there! Kilimanjaro especially, that's certainly no small feat. I like the sound of one final long-term grind to finish off THE FIVE. Good luck with it all, especially getting that War Ensemble FC. I know how annoying those long-time 100% overstrums can be, I really hope you can at least get that one out of the way. Looking forward to seeing your progress. _________________
