Sorry I took SO long to update this again... but I waited to get something significative (instead of just videos >_>) before posting XD Hmm of course I also went to my hometown, vacations, etc.

So I FINALLY got FC #80: No One To Depend On (Live) I didn't really grind the song over the last weeks, but I just tried to play it randomly each time I played GH5. I've had a few chokes at the END of fast strumming, but I guess I can't really call those chokes, since it's my worst part of the song

Anyway, this week I played against NooLiMitzZ (another awesome French canadian ), he picked this song... and I randomly FCed (my first time playing the song that day :O) I was obviously recording, you know just in case.... That's funny how pretty much all my last FCs are in PFO XD Hmm I don't play enough alone these days

Btw my score sucks, even though I knew the path... I wasn't hosting the match, so ALL my activations are late haha XD Also NooLiMitzZ is way better than on that pfo... he only had the game for like 5 days (so he really don't know the songs), BUT he can already FC that solo, Demon(s) solo, and he beats me each time on DWEDFN AND he's actually a RB drummer :S But I still love him He sure did help me to get this FC! ^^

Also got a GH5 Cyanide FC Thanks to PMS Hailz and MetalSmasher (got jealous of both their FC XD), it motivated me to play the song a couple times over the last weeks and I finally got it! With a bad path, but I don't care ;P

Alright, now that I'm back from Quebec City (where I went to see Iron Maiden live.. videos soon! ), I finally have a little time for SH Be aware, huge post coming

So ESWC was incredible as I already said (and GH players there were the BEST ), but unfortunately I didn't go very far as I was eliminated in the first round, I only got to play 2 matches against Mokette and Boyke :/ I had a really hard time adjusting to the awful lag we had (notes way ahead of sound :S), and of course we played the worst songs for that: Wolf Like Me and Saturday Night's Alright (FF), in which I did more badly than on my sightread I swear! And I can usually FC those songs really easily.. Oh well I still beat Boyke on Lust For Life XD And I missed one chord change on Younk Funk lol. My match against him went a little better, but he played really well, so that was tough Even if I had advanced to ¼ finals, I still wouldn't have gone very far, as players only played Scatterbrain starting from semi-finals, and there's no way I could have won something, as I never practiced the song (except a few random runs obviously), and I'm really bad at it I actually got my high score on this while practicing at ESWC (near 400k >_>), so, I'm really happy with the tourney results anyway

Fun facts about ESWC/my trip :

- Banobi screams like a girl in roller coasters
- Mokette really didn't want to go in the terror tower attraction.. >_>
- French guys REALLY like to argue for nothing... and I mean nothing
- Smokyprogg never takes his sunglasses off, even inside or when it's dark at night
- Luckysonic has the coolest "guitarherophenom style dad" there is XD
- Banobi came for a week in Disneyland without any money at all lol
- We can't take Banobi near a lake when he's drunk: he'll walk right into it all dressed up with shoes on >_>
- Luckysonic's first DYFLWD(?) FC (not that he had tried before) was in a 4 people guitar quickplay with Banobi, Mokette and me.. Epic!
- At ESWC, I spent half the time talking english to french guys, and talking french to english ones. Soooo confusing haha
- Cypher needs to come on SH more, he's really really cool and fun!
- Banobi is soooo stressed out before all his tournament matches, it's almost unbelievable he didn't die before the end
- Luckysonic randomly FC'ed Satch Boogie solo D on 2nd try.. And he can play anything on the slidebar!
- Banobi falls asleep anywhere
- I gave directions to people from Sweden in Paris XD
- On the flight from Montreal to Paris, I was seated right next to a French lady who works in Disneyland Paris.. how convenient and lucky!
- Against all odds, on the plane back from Paris to Montreal, I was seated right next to the only one other ESWC player in the whole plane (David, CS player from CompLexity)!
- A 13 year old Fifa player (from France) cried when he was about to lose his semi-final match, making the other player all confused: then scored and won... he also won in final!
- Beer with grenadine in it is really good (thanks Mokette!) ;)
- I met Chelsea (PMS Delicate), and she wanted to have her picture taken with me! Haha she's like super famous in our Clan, and she was on WCG Ultimate Gamer XD
- There's so much more, that was just a few memories I had in 10 mintues ;P

Back from ESWC Paris!! Had an amazing week, with a bunch of really really awesome people, especially all GH players, and Banobi and Mokette, who were staying in the same hotel I was, so we basically spent all our time together.. I won't complain, they're so funny I was always entertained

I'm leaving for Paris first thing tomorrow morning!! OMG I'm so excited I can't wait!! I pfo'd with Banobi earlier today, I was so nervous I messed up like crazy in Lust For Life haha >_> It was awesome anyway! He better be there when I get in Disneyland, I need his xbox to practice

Update 2010/06/07

Hm like 2 weeks ago I got GH5X FC #78: Younk Funk Well I should have got this sooooo long ago! I couldn't FC Younk Funk just because of the 3-note chords switches (repeating twice in the song), that I couldn't do fast enough... but I JUST realized before I FC'd it that I could just switch my fingers to play those LOL. I play this piano-style obviously and I always changed all fingers for each chord change lmao. I'm so used to never switch fingers position that I completely forgot I could do that for that song :S

Silly me XD So I got the FC about 1h after I realized that Oh and my LP started dropping oranges after that, so I couldn't use it since then :/

I also played GH3X again for fun (after a pretty long while not playing it) last week, and I ran into Mr. Sci on XBL (been very lucky to play GH3 at that exact time, he only got LIVE for like 48h!), so we played a couple of songs I was warmed up as I played just before for about half an hour, and I had just tried to FC Take This Life without much success haha! I guess I play better in a pro face-off ;) Couldn't believe I got that FC (#44) in pfo And with my x-plorer! (frets and strums awfully loud)

Also the following day I tried out Impulse, to get a first split screen GH3 video for me, and I got it in ~3 tries, after a little practice on the most psychotic breakdown ever (or something like that) FC #45!

Oh and my plane tickets are booked for Paris, so I'm officially going to ESWC 2010 HUGE thank you to my awesome PMS/H2O Clan, and everyone supporting me So now I'll concentrate on practicing GH5 XD This morning I reFCed The Spirit of Radio on 2nd try (with lower score, my x-plorer doesn't whammy properly :S), and reFCed a couple more songs! And yesterday I somehow got 380k (99%, 725 NS) on 21st Century Schizoid Man, 22th place on 360 -8 in hard solo, that'll need more practice.. Can't wait to get my new LP for this!! And I SUCK at Scatterbrain :/ Oh well, it's only one song >_>

OMG I'm invited to ESWC 2010 (Electronic Sports World Cup) in Paris, France to compete in Guitar Hero 5!!! (June 30th to July 5th)

Banobi here (who just FCed TTFAF :O) too, but the others I either don't know them or they're to be determined.. I can't believe it!! I applied on the last day (I happened to go to the site to see what players were selected, I didn't even know they had invitations!), and honestly I thought I had a slight chance considered only 2 Canadian players applied (and I did pretty good so far on GH5, except the really hard stuff which I'm working on ), but so many great players applied (vVv Paradise and Ecstacy amongst others), I REALLY didn't expect to see my name there... just found out tonight

OMG I'm soooo excited!!! And I've never even been to Europe before, that's gonna be so awesome!

So I hope I'll get to meet a lot of other SHers there, who lives nearby Paris??!

Update 2010/05/14

OMG that didn't take too long So happy I got this one! I didn't work on the song at all until hmm last week when I saw that Ecstacy got the FC herself Previously I was one-handing it, or tapping pretty badly.. I don't know why, tapping piano-style was pretty hard on that song My best was like 95 or 96% on the solo >_>

Soooo, my main problem with this song was activating SP during the solo.. I wouldn't have been able to FC one-handed, and tapping piano-style was already hard, I didn't want to finally get that very nice FC with a crappy score, not being able to start SP while tapping :S So after seeing Ecstacy's video, I realized it would probably be MUCH easier to FC playing regular style So I did!

I swear, it took longer for me to actually get through the song to the solo, than to FC the solo itself!! After 3 short practices of the song and solo, I sat longer today (1½ hour) to work on it, and got it on my 3rd or 4th time reaching the solo!! But I messed up like 20 times before the solo lmao! Playing regular style is soooo hard now, I kept doing really silly misses, getting all confused on which finger was supposed to be on which fret Also last activations were completely random.. I just tried not to miss haha!

So here it is: American Girl 100% FC split-screen video NOT piano-style! Also 15th place on 360, not bad.. I might try to reFC with squeezing ;)



Oh btw I'm becoming active again on my Clan (notice the nice shirt and guitar skin on the video XD)

Update on my GH progress :

Well I haven't played in ~2 months unfortunately My 2 guitars have been overstrumming last time I played, so I got a little annoyed and gave up on practicing and going for FCs for a good while. I actually got GH:Van Halen for my birthday back in february, but still haven't played all songs.. I got a few FCs on sightread, and like 6 or 7 100% sightreads that should have been FCs just because my guitar kept randomly overstrumming

Also, only a few friends from here knew about that, but back in february, I was pregnant (again!) and sadly I miscarried right before my birthday I was 2 months pregnant when it happened.. So I don't know, I think I just lost a bit of interest in playing GH after that happened (aside from the controller problems), and I took a little break from SH too ;P I tried to sleep some more during the day with my daughter, and I started cardio/muscle training haha XD I already had quite little time to play, so with that I just stopped playing completely! Weird how I didn't miss it that much, even though I really love the game.. Well I'm not addicted, that's good I guess I'm feeling much better now, but I'm still very busy with family life/events, etc. I hope to start playing again soon anyway, in a week or so, even though my guitars gave me trouble last time! If I don't, please remind me so

This is for Tidus, I promised him a surprise a LONG time ago (as usual haha XD)! So there you go, my first (and likely last!) split-screen video of GH2X! I say last, because it's completely impossible for me to play that game anymore, I was never able to callibrate the lag (we can only adjust audio lag ), and I just get really mad when playing GH2 again, after I played with other GH games that I can callibrate perfectly well. You Really Got Me was actually not so bad to play with the lag, but I have no clue how I did to FC Thunderhorse :O

Also I got this a while back, that was actually my first FC in 2010 Just took a long time to finally edit/upload >_> Tidus motivated me to try out GH2 again to get new FCs, so just like he did a while ago, I had to get an FC he still don't have (well I failed to get the ones he got like PP(LL) haha) XD

Anyway, You Really Got Me was my 22nd FC, and I randomly FCed Dead! as #23! I actually reFCed YRGM for little bit higher score (still sucks with my x-plorer) but that's not the run on video.. Here are the pics!



Oh, and I just realized I've been playing piano-style for 2 years now (with a ~9 months break XD)

FC #38 : Caught In A Mosh! I messed up last activation so score isn't so good, but I'm happy about this one, got it 1st try today Hardest part was the fast strumming part, and not messing up right after


Also choked Cult Of Personality on like the LAST note of the long solo (-1) :S But it's a good thing actually 'cause camera for my hands stopped recording (battery died) and I messed up the path FC soon hopefully!

That one was much easier than I expected.. I actually thought (I had not played the song in a couple months since my sightread) there was a really fast strumming section in the solo like on GH2 So I got it in like 6 tries.. hardest part was not to choke after the solo... which I did twice haha! I'll try to reFC and squeeze some notes another time >_>


Edit 2010/02/09: FC #37 : Bark At The Moon! On VIDEO HERE as well!

I got it in 2 tries this morning : first try on Hyperspeed 4, I mess up a whole lot everywhere (but last solo), then I switched to HS5 to see the fast solo better.. I never thought I'd get it already, I wanted to get this one with split-screen :S Oh well, next one... Cult of Personality? Also very bad score because my red fret dropped too many red holds and I missed out on an activation


Also, Free Bird choke on ALMOST FREE...!!
But I'll get it soon, that was my 3rd run after not playing the song in a few days.. I wasn't even recording, so sure I'd miss a ton in the solo Well at least I missed in the hard part (the fast hopos) ;P Oh and still a pretty good score for a non-FC run, 19th on 360


I also improved quite a bit on Raining Blood (~316k), in which I can almost FC Flood (or whatever it's called in GHSH, I don't know the sections names), the hardest thing for me in the whole song is the green streak, I hate that kind of fast strumming. Of course I still haven't FCed Mosh 1 but that is more likely than those greens I'll try to get to 99% on RaBl as well XD (97% now)

Time for a new update finally!!

So, back to GH:Smash Hits for a little while, as I wanted to get a bunch of easier FCs I had left! Also, I gave a try to my LP (with the dropping red fret problem), and it seems it got better after a rest of a month or so!! Still drops holds once in a while, but it doesn't stop working completely like it did back in december! So that means I can finally practice harder solos, and improve on harder songs

Anyway, here's my latest GH:SH progress:

FC #27 : Round And Round - got this in a few tries after I got a 100% overstrum, fun solos in this one!
FC #28 : Monkey Wrench - love playing this song!! FCed it like 3 times to try and get 500k but didn't work >_> I'll try again later haha!
FC #29 : Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart - got this in 2 or 3 tries, fun song as well I can't play this on GH2X because of the lag :S
FC #30 : Freya - that one took a little more time, I kept doing silly misses anywhere.. Again, much much easier than on GH2X!
FC #31 : Nothin' But A Good Time - got it in like 2 tries, and on video! Really like playing this and solos are nice too!!
FC #32 : Take It Off - a little weird at first with all the chords, but only took a few tries as well, hard to get a nice score on though....
FC #33 : Stop - OMG that one took forever!! :S I actually never missed in the solo, but I COULDN'T GET TO IT!! And when I did, I choked twice after it >_> Haha I don't know why I had so much trouble though, I just kept randomly missing near the beginning :/
FC #34 : YYZ - love this song, even though a lot easier than GH2X! Took a few tries, I've had a few silly misses.. Solos were easier than I would have thought

Also, I got my first TTFAF 5* on Smash Hits!! Haha I could have had it a while ago, but just never really tried before >_> Well, I barely got it actually, but I REALLY suck in the "post insanity"-like parts, I can't keep a combo :/ It's so much worse than on GH3 I really have trouble with all that fast strumming, I don't know if it's because I couldn't set my lag properly, but anyway, hopefully I'll improve that and then improve my score a lot more!

1st update of 2010!! Happy new year to everyone

Alright, so I don't really have new FCs, but I didn't grind anything over the last month The main reason is that I don't have a properly working guitar controller anymore :/ My LP always drops reds (it wasn't too bad for a while, although I think I was actually very lucky I could FC TSoR and DYFLWD with it!!) and my x-plorer isn't so bad, but it randomly overstrums (mostly when there's fast strumming) and it's MUCH harder to fret fast solos I've only been playing with it lately and got better with the fretting, but it's still really hard!

But, new piano-style split screen video!! This is the Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting) FC that I got before holidays and didn't get time to edit/upload it until recently XD

I had You Give Love a Bad Name on video too, but my score is awful as I used my x-plorer and couldn't get the 1-sp activation, so I didn't bother doing this one :P If I can get it right I might do a new one!

Also, biggest news of this update : I got asked to do an interview for the 5frets.com website about me and my piano-style playing technique, and here is the result : Top Player Interview: Lilirock Plays Guitar Hero Overhand Piano-Style Haha I think they exagerate a little bit on my "extraordinary" skill level, but still I was very honored that they'd want to do an interview at all in the first place. It was my Spirit of Radio video that caught up the interviewer's attention Oh and I wrote a LOT, so look for bold sections if you don't want to read the whole thing

I'm taking a break until next year :P Being sometime in beginning of January of course I just can't keep up with all IRL stuff during holidays, I can barely touch my computer these days :S So I'll wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! And I'll be back as soon as I can

But before I go, just quick little updates too, I've had time last week to play a couple really short sessions in which I got FCs 75 & 76! The 2 easiest ones I had left of course, 'cause I really didn't have even like a whole hour to play, so not enough time to grind anything harder..

So, FC #75 : You Give Love A Bad Name - bad sp, I actually started playing with my x-plorer (so bad whammy), and I couldn't get the 1-sp activation... my LP kept dropping reds everywhere, so much I had to stop playing with it my x-plorer is very reliable, but harder to fret... :/ Oh and took about 20 mins., that FC was overdue!

FC #76 : Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting) - got it in like 2 tries, but forgot to activate on the last act.. so score a bit lower than should have.. still happy with it anyway

Oh also, now top 10 on 360 and top 15 all consoles! (9th and 12th to be precise)

Update on my GH5 expert guitar progress:

OMGOMGOMG!! GH5X Do You Feel Like We Do (Live) 100% FC!! Hmmm I guess keyboard solo 2 was easier than I thought after all So... I had not played at all since my last 902k run on Monday.. (Christmas dinner, etc. XD), then tonight, even though I was exhausted, I decided to go play just a little bit, see how I'd do on DYFLWD(L) First run (also 1st thing I played) I tried remembering SP path so that I wouldn't have to pause on an eventual FC video.. I did silly misses in Solo 1A or in that area.. then missed in keyboard solo A's 2nd trill, then missed in the ending trips.. Of course I had messed up a few activations, so I went back to look at the path (memorizing the 3 acts I had forgotten), turned on my cameras (just in case..), and 2nd run: bam FC!!! :OOO I still can't believe I didn't choke My score actually sucks, I never thought I would FC this so fast, so I didn't try to squeeze at all, I dropped extended sustains (so tired.. wasn't paying attention enough haha!), and I dropped so many red sustains :/ My red fret does that all the time, really annoying :S Also I was so shocked I still had not missed that I forgot to activate on time on the 2nd to last act All I was thinking after that was: those parts are easy, DON'T CHOKE!!! Also, please don't have high expectations like 80 FCs or some other really hard songs so soon, 'cause Do You Feel Like We Do is actually easy for me overall compared to most songs left for me to FC Gratitude's solo is harder for me than every parts of this song >_> Also Bring the Noise 20XX, American Girl, Demon(s) and No One To Depend On all have solos I still never hit, not even in practice (not even talking about the harder ones) But of course I'm gonna work on that

Update on my GH5 expert guitar progress:

So I was going to wait for a new FC before replying to everyone, but instead of going for new FCs, I decided to play harder songs to try to increase my overall rank first :P Also with a pretty busy week-end, I only got a chance to play yesterday :/

So.. I played Do You Feel Like We Do? (Live), 'cause I had played the song only once with a pretty bad sightread score of ~730k >_> So, 2nd run, I got 741k.. still bad, but just enough to pass AlexHaz64, after putting up some old scores on other songs

Then I thought I'd try to reFC Medicate on video to do a split-screen one.. I got it with a ~1k improve (just enough to pass Mr.Scientist ), but unfortunately my screen video had too many skips, I couldn't get it to synchronize well So I'm gonna work on some new FCs for split-screen videos instead! Good news is that my video editing software is back up and running (I didn't have any for a month after the evaluation period was over)

A little ashamed by my still really bad DYFLWD(L) score, I decided to take all solos into practice a little, and see how far I could get in real runs. Then 3 or 4 runs later, I got a 180k improvement from my sightread

First run with path I FCd all but -1 note in keyboard solo A (silly miss, I never miss there ) and -1 note in outro solo A (forgot to strum an easy note ) Should have got a slightly higher score, I missesd some SP due to dropping reds on chords (red fret problem..) a couple of times. So -2!! :


(P.S. I know, I still need to chance that back in english >_>)

Then on the run right after, I managed to improve my score (dropped less reds!), but missed a few notes in 2nd trill of keyboard solo A and in the ending trips (-6 total).. Again, I usually don't miss there :S Nice streak though



FC soon maybe Actually the only really harder part for me is keyboard solo B (which I FCd twice in a row in those runs!), it took me forever to finally get it in practice with 0 consistency haha! And of course not to miss randomly in other parts or trills or ending fast chords... I really like playing the song though, hopefully I get more time to play soon

Oh and I was about to forget my main accomplishment which is my improved 360 ranking to 15th place!! GH5X scores HERE!

Update 2009/11/26
No new GH5 progress obviously, I sent my Xbox only 2 days ago (I had to wait for the box, return label, etc.), and it'll likely take another few weeks before I get it back Oh well, I miss the game, but I'll survive haha! I take more time now to sleep during the day with my daughter

But I uploaded a new video on Youtube, it was from about 6 months back haha! It's a pro face-off against f4 during the Cevo Metallica tournament Please read the vid's description for more info!

Oh and one thing though, for fun last week I completed GH80's Hard career on Dualshock!! I'm just happy I've been able to pass all songs, failing once on Electric Eye >_> I really suck at it though, I'm so confused all the time lol, I think I only 5*d one song I tried it on expert, and only been able to pass like 2 songs (barely), I was miserable haha! Tidus, I'm so much more impressed (even though I already was of course!) by all your hard/expert FCs on Dualshock, that's crazy!

Update on my GH5 expert guitar progress :

I've been able to play many hours last week, yay!! Finally more new stuff

I obviously went for a new bunch of FCs, and pretty much got rid of easier ones, and reached 70 Also in the process of going through the setlist, I reFCed Ring Of Fire twice to try and get my first optimal ever on a song, and I got it! I know of course it's so easy.. but I don't care, I'm still very happy about this optimal and first place It also means I can squeeze easy stuff!! >_>

Also a little before getting 70 FCs, I reached top 20 on 360, and top 25 overall Also 27 mil. points! I'm currently 14th on 360 and 24th all systems.. I'm hoping to work on that to improve my ranking more, I still have many songs left to FC, and a few songs still have my bad sightread scores XD Not to mention I have very much room for improvement on the hardest songs

- Back Round : not sure, haven't played this since sightread, I don't remember the song
- Medicate : I remember the pretty fast and chokable outro, but it shouldn't be a problem
- Do You Feel Like We Do? : haven't played it since sightread either.. if I can hit the solo (don't actually remember it very well), I should get it with lots of patience
- No One To Depend On : I'm very close to hitting the solo trill (my best being -1), if I can find a way, and become consistent in the fast strumming, I should be able to get it eventually!
- Gratitude : I think I'll FC NOTDO before this :s I hate that solo
- Bring the Noise 20XX : Actually never hit the full solo yet, but pretty close >_>

So it stayed on for like 2 days straight I probably killed it >_>

Update on my GH5 expert guitar progress :

Well I didn't do much at all over the last week ½.. my baby daughter had been sick since right after my TSOR FC :/ With her not sleeping well at all during the day, all I could manage was 30 minutes of playing on october 31st On that session, since I knew it was gonna be so short, I decided to try out GH3 and try improve a little on TTFAF (Graf asked for a hands vid XD).. So before TTFAF, I gave a shot at Cliffs of Dover, since I like playing it so much, and still needed the FC. I got it in 3 tries, only took about 10 minutes

So FC #43 on VIDEO HERE!


Then I played TTFAF of course.. First try in months, I do pretty good, probably my best run up to the solos.... then I fail right before Here We Stand lol Then on my next try I managed to get my best score ever, and first 5* of the song in career play It was just a lucky run though, I didn't even 5* the next one or 2 runs I had time to play >_>


Then 2 days ago I FINALLY(!!) could play GH5 again for more than 30 minutes!! So I had 2 sessions of ~2 hours, and got a bunch of new GH5 FCs I didn't bother starting over when I didn't have the best SP though..

Btw I'm kinda proud of my Guitarhenge venue ranking (5th on 360, 7th overall ), even though my SLTS score is pretty bad.. I think I'll reFC today if I have time haha! Update on my GH5 expert guitar progress :

Got another 1½ hour of practice after my last update, and guess what?!

FC #40!! Of course, with a piano-style split screen video, which is also the highest video on xbox 360! Pretty good score too, ranked 4th on 360 (my highest ranking on GH5 ), and 10th overall as of now XD And I dropped 2 3-note chords sustains because of my red fret :/

I never thought I'd get this today already... I spent like 20-30 minutes in practice mode and never even got consistent on any part of the fast strumming Then I got annoyed and decided to go for real runs.. of course I got 2 more -1 runs missing in 1st then 2nd part of fast strumming, a few runs with misses in hopos parts before solo, and got my lucky run the 3rd time FCing up to the solo XD So happy about this one, even more since I got a good score on it too!!

Well now I can continue my quest for more (easy) FCs >_>

Update 2009/02/18
OMG I just learned I'm Guitar God(dess) for GH3X!!! lol I was gonna update only with my new FCs, and right after I entered my new TTFAF improved score, I realized it was a 5*!! :O By like 1k pts.. I was so sure that the cutoff was so much higher, as I've always been so far from it before! I think my 2 hours of practice on the song paid off And this was my first run of the night.. I tried to beat it afterwards in career (to get the 5* ) but only got like 553... >_>



So I had been playing GH3 once a week since about 3 weeks (for Clan practice XD), so I thought maybe I should try to practice TTFAF a little bit to improve and at least become consistent on getting more than 500k on it haha! So I did that, then when I got tired thinking I could never get higher than that 567k score, I decided to play a few other random songs.. So I played CoD (always messed up), then played :

FC #41! First try in many many months... I forgot the right SP and got a lower score than my non FC.. but still FC!


FC #42! Right after WttJ, I thought why not try Cherub Rock, it's easier than WttJ , and also FCed it first try I forgot the 2nd activation (too early), but the rest was pretty good I think! XD


I didn't play much GHWT in career lately, but just long enough to reFC Parabola with path!

Also I wanted to add I've been quite inactive on SH lately, and played a LOT less of GH... and this is mainly because I've been extremely tired for many weeks, due to a specific reason : pregnancy ;) Hopefully this only happens the first months, then I'll have more energy But right now, most of the time, as soon as I have some free time I just want to go sleep So yeah, I'm almost 3 months pregnant, and baby is due.. on September 11 :s Don't worry I won't discuss that more in my thread, I just wanted to tell friends why I disappear so often lately XD

Update 2008/12/12
Tonight, I got my first ever 1st global!!! Ok.. only on Bass, and on a DLC song, but still! I beat Mithin XD I love this song, and decided I'd try to FC it after seeing Mithin's vid (first time I ever saw the bass chart!) I practiced the open notes hopo parts a few times, and that was like my 4th or 5th try going for the FC (2nd run tonight) Also, I was using a borrowed projector from my work place to test it (we'll play GHWT at our Christmas party from work! XD), so my vid quality is actually very good for a change!!

So I put on GH2 after months to play 2 songs for our SH Friends Rivalry... I do pretty bad at Mother, then try to FC Madhouse without succes... Then I thought I'd give Jordan a try (after passing it only once ever on GH2 )

First try, I do pretty good until solo A.. where I activate SP by mistake lol >_> So I failed in end of B.

Second try, I FC up to break(?), FC almost all solo A, then do VERY bad on B, but I somehow pass it, and pass the whole song, ending up with 277k! I had not played the bridge forever and didn't practice it before, so I just understood the timing near the end, so I could have got so much more! :O

At last, GH2X FC #20 Thunderhorse!! Still can't believe it lol! After a break from it for a little while (I only played it a few times over the last 5 days or so), this morning in about 45 minutes I had 3 -1 runs (silly mistakes), 1 100% run with 2 overstrums again in silly places, then I finally got it I was shaking so bad at the end, I was sure I'd choke on the 3rd to last note or something (I sometimes miss there lol)! Thankfully I didn't, I would have cried haha! Sorry DZJB, no YRGM as #20

And I have to say a big thank you to f4 (again haha) for encouraging(?) me to go for it, and all your help And to everyone who kept supporting me as well

I've never actually created a thread before, so I might as well do that in the accomplishments forum..

I started playing GH3 in early december 2007 (sadly I had never heard of GH1 or GH2), now a couple of months later, I'm about to complete expert career.. I discovered SH a few weeks ago, and improved a LOT since! I got most of my FCs over the last 2-3 weeks, and also passed TTFaF and Jordan for the first time! I heard about the existence of SP paths, squeezing, tapping, Jordan (thanks to HA's 500 pages FC thread! ) and custom songs as well!

Looking forward to everyone's comments, feedback

Sorry I took SO long to update this again... but I waited to get something significative (instead of just videos >_>) before posting XD Hmm of course I also went to my hometown, vacations, etc.

So I FINALLY got FC #80: No One To Depend On (Live) I didn't really grind the song over the last weeks, but I just tried to play it randomly each time I played GH5. I've had a few chokes at the END of fast strumming, but I guess I can't really call those chokes, since it's my worst part of the song

Anyway, this week I played against NooLiMitzZ (another awesome French canadian ), he picked this song... and I randomly FCed (my first time playing the song that day :O) I was obviously recording, you know just in case.... That's funny how pretty much all my last FCs are in PFO XD Hmm I don't play enough alone these days

Alright, now that I'm back from Quebec City (where I went to see Iron Maiden live.. videos soon! ), I finally have a little time for SH Be aware, huge post coming

So ESWC was incredible as I already said (and GH players there were the BEST ), but unfortunately I didn't go very far as I was eliminated in the first round, I only got to play 2 matches against Mokette and Boyke :/ I had a really hard time adjusting to the awful lag we had (notes way ahead of sound :S), and of course we played the worst songs for that: Wolf Like Me and Saturday Night's Alright (FF), in which I did more badly than on my sightread I swear! And I can usually FC those songs really easily.. Oh well I still beat Boyke on Lust For Life XD And I missed one chord change on Younk Funk lol. My match against him went a little better, but he played really well, so that was tough Even if I had advanced to ¼ finals, I still wouldn't have gone very far, as players only played Scatterbrain starting from semi-finals, and there's no way I could have won something, as I never practiced the song (except a few random runs obviously), and I'm really bad at it I actually got my high score on this while practicing at ESWC (near 400k >_>), so, I'm really happy with the tourney results anyway

Fun facts about ESWC/my trip :

- Banobi screams like a girl in roller coasters
- Mokette really didn't want to go in the terror tower attraction.. >_>
- French guys REALLY like to argue for nothing... and I mean nothing
- Smokyprogg never takes his sunglasses off, even inside or when it's dark at night
- Luckysonic has the coolest "guitarherophenom style dad" there is XD
- Banobi came for a week in Disneyland without any money at all lol
- We can't take Banobi near a lake when he's drunk: he'll walk right into it all dressed up with shoes on >_>
- Luckysonic's first DYFLWD(?) FC (not that he had tried before) was in a 4 people guitar quickplay with Banobi, Mokette and me.. Epic!
- At ESWC, I spent half the time talking english to french guys, and talking french to english ones. Soooo confusing haha
- Cypher needs to come on SH more, he's really really cool and fun!
- Banobi is soooo stressed out before all his tournament matches, it's almost unbelievable he didn't die before the end
- Luckysonic randomly FC'ed Satch Boogie solo D on 2nd try.. And he can play anything on the slidebar!
- Banobi falls asleep anywhere
- I gave directions to people from Sweden in Paris XD
- On the flight from Montreal to Paris, I was seated right next to a French lady who works in Disneyland Paris.. how convenient and lucky!
- Against all odds, on the plane back from Paris to Montreal, I was seated right next to the only one other ESWC player in the whole plane (David, CS player from CompLexity)!
- A 13 year old Fifa player (from France) cried when he was about to lose his semi-final match, making the other player all confused: then scored and won... he also won in final!
- Beer with grenadine in it is really good (thanks Mokette!) ;)
- I met Chelsea (PMS Delicate), and she wanted to have her picture taken with me! Haha she's like super famous in our Clan, and she was on WCG Ultimate Gamer XD
- There's so much more, that was just a few memories I had in 10 mintues ;P

Back from ESWC Paris!! Had an amazing week, with a bunch of really really awesome people, especially all GH players, and Banobi and Mokette, who were staying in the same hotel I was, so we basically spent all our time together.. I won't complain, they're so funny I was always entertained

I'm leaving for Paris first thing tomorrow morning!! OMG I'm so excited I can't wait!! I pfo'd with Banobi earlier today, I was so nervous I messed up like crazy in Lust For Life haha >_> It was awesome anyway! He better be there when I get in Disneyland, I need his xbox to practice

Hm like 2 weeks ago I got GH5X FC #78: Younk Funk Well I should have got this sooooo long ago! I couldn't FC Younk Funk just because of the 3-note chords switches (repeating twice in the song), that I couldn't do fast enough... but I JUST realized before I FC'd it that I could just switch my fingers to play those LOL. I play this piano-style obviously and I always changed all fingers for each chord change lmao. I'm so used to never switch fingers position that I completely forgot I could do that for that song :S

Silly me XD So I got the FC about 1h after I realized that Oh and my LP started dropping oranges after that, so I couldn't use it since then :/

I also played GH3X again for fun (after a pretty long while not playing it) last week, and I ran into Mr. Sci on XBL (been very lucky to play GH3 at that exact time, he only got LIVE for like 48h!), so we played a couple of songs I was warmed up as I played just before for about half an hour, and I had just tried to FC Take This Life without much success haha! I guess I play better in a pro face-off ;) Couldn't believe I got that FC (#44) in pfo And with my x-plorer! (frets and strums awfully loud)

Also the following day I tried out Impulse, to get a first split screen GH3 video for me, and I got it in ~3 tries, after a little practice on the most psychotic breakdown ever (or something like that) FC #45!

Oh and my plane tickets are booked for Paris, so I'm officially going to ESWC 2010 HUGE thank you to my awesome PMS/H2O Clan, and everyone supporting me So now I'll concentrate on practicing GH5 XD This morning I reFCed The Spirit of Radio on 2nd try (with lower score, my x-plorer doesn't whammy properly :S), and reFCed a couple more songs! And yesterday I somehow got 380k (99%, 725 NS) on 21st Century Schizoid Man, 22th place on 360 -8 in hard solo, that'll need more practice.. Can't wait to get my new LP for this!! And I SUCK at Scatterbrain :/ Oh well, it's only one song >_>

OMG that didn't take too long So happy I got this one! I didn't work on the song at all until hmm last week when I saw that Ecstacy got the FC herself Previously I was one-handing it, or tapping pretty badly.. I don't know why, tapping piano-style was pretty hard on that song My best was like 95 or 96% on the solo >_>

Soooo, my main problem with this song was activating SP during the solo.. I wouldn't have been able to FC one-handed, and tapping piano-style was already hard, I didn't want to finally get that very nice FC with a crappy score, not being able to start SP while tapping :S So after seeing Ecstacy's video, I realized it would probably be MUCH easier to FC playing regular style So I did!

I swear, it took longer for me to actually get through the song to the solo, than to FC the solo itself!! After 3 short practices of the song and solo, I sat longer today (1½ hour) to work on it, and got it on my 3rd or 4th time reaching the solo!! But I messed up like 20 times before the solo lmao! Playing regular style is soooo hard now, I kept doing really silly misses, getting all confused on which finger was supposed to be on which fret Also last activations were completely random.. I just tried not to miss haha!

So here it is: American Girl 100% FC split-screen video NOT piano-style! Also 15th place on 360, not bad.. I might try to reFC with squeezing ;)

Update on my GH progress :

Well I haven't played in ~2 months unfortunately My 2 guitars have been overstrumming last time I played, so I got a little annoyed and gave up on practicing and going for FCs for a good while. I actually got GH:Van Halen for my birthday back in february, but still haven't played all songs.. I got a few FCs on sightread, and like 6 or 7 100% sightreads that should have been FCs just because my guitar kept randomly overstrumming

Also, only a few friends from here knew about that, but back in february, I was pregnant (again!) and sadly I miscarried right before my birthday I was 2 months pregnant when it happened.. So I don't know, I think I just lost a bit of interest in playing GH after that happened (aside from the controller problems), and I took a little break from SH too ;P I tried to sleep some more during the day with my daughter, and I started cardio/muscle training haha XD I already had quite little time to play, so with that I just stopped playing completely! Weird how I didn't miss it that much, even though I really love the game.. Well I'm not addicted, that's good I guess I'm feeling much better now, but I'm still very busy with family life/events, etc. I hope to start playing again soon anyway, in a week or so, even though my guitars gave me trouble last time! If I don't, please remind me so

This is for Tidus, I promised him a surprise a LONG time ago (as usual haha XD)! So there you go, my first (and likely last!) split-screen video of GH2X! I say last, because it's completely impossible for me to play that game anymore, I was never able to callibrate the lag (we can only adjust audio lag ), and I just get really mad when playing GH2 again, after I played with other GH games that I can callibrate perfectly well. You Really Got Me was actually not so bad to play with the lag, but I have no clue how I did to FC Thunderhorse :O

Also I got this a while back, that was actually my first FC in 2010 Just took a long time to finally edit/upload >_> Tidus motivated me to try out GH2 again to get new FCs, so just like he did a while ago, I had to get an FC he still don't have (well I failed to get the ones he got like PP(LL) haha) XD

Anyway, You Really Got Me was my 22nd FC, and I randomly FCed Dead! as #23! I actually reFCed YRGM for little bit higher score (still sucks with my x-plorer) but that's not the run on video.. Here are the pics!

FC #38 : Caught In A Mosh! I messed up last activation so score isn't so good, but I'm happy about this one, got it 1st try today Hardest part was the fast strumming part, and not messing up right after


Also choked Cult Of Personality on like the LAST note of the long solo (-1) :S But it's a good thing actually 'cause camera for my hands stopped recording (battery died) and I messed up the path FC soon hopefully!

That one was much easier than I expected.. I actually thought (I had not played the song in a couple months since my sightread) there was a really fast strumming section in the solo like on GH2 So I got it in like 6 tries.. hardest part was not to choke after the solo... which I did twice haha! I'll try to reFC and squeeze some notes another time >_>


Edit 2010/02/09: FC #37 : Bark At The Moon! On VIDEO HERE as well!

I got it in 2 tries this morning : first try on Hyperspeed 4, I mess up a whole lot everywhere (but last solo), then I switched to HS5 to see the fast solo better.. I never thought I'd get it already, I wanted to get this one with split-screen :S Oh well, next one... Cult of Personality? Also very bad score because my red fret dropped too many red holds and I missed out on an activation


Also, Free Bird choke on ALMOST FREE...!!
But I'll get it soon, that was my 3rd run after not playing the song in a few days.. I wasn't even recording, so sure I'd miss a ton in the solo Well at least I missed in the hard part (the fast hopos) ;P Oh and still a pretty good score for a non-FC run, 19th on 360


I also improved quite a bit on Raining Blood (~316k), in which I can almost FC Flood (or whatever it's called in GHSH, I don't know the sections names), the hardest thing for me in the whole song is the green streak, I hate that kind of fast strumming. Of course I still haven't FCed Mosh 1 but that is more likely than those greens I'll try to get to 99% on RaBl as well XD (97% now)

Time for a new update finally!!

So, back to GH:Smash Hits for a little while, as I wanted to get a bunch of easier FCs I had left! Also, I gave a try to my LP (with the dropping red fret problem), and it seems it got better after a rest of a month or so!! Still drops holds once in a while, but it doesn't stop working completely like it did back in december! So that means I can finally practice harder solos, and improve on harder songs

FC #27 : Round And Round - got this in a few tries after I got a 100% overstrum, fun solos in this one!
FC #28 : Monkey Wrench - love playing this song!! FCed it like 3 times to try and get 500k but didn't work >_> I'll try again later haha!
FC #29 : Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart - got this in 2 or 3 tries, fun song as well I can't play this on GH2X because of the lag :S
FC #30 : Freya - that one took a little more time, I kept doing silly misses anywhere.. Again, much much easier than on GH2X!
FC #31 : Nothin' But A Good Time - got it in like 2 tries, and on video! Really like playing this and solos are nice too!!
FC #32 : Take It Off - a little weird at first with all the chords, but only took a few tries as well, hard to get a nice score on though....
FC #33 : Stop - OMG that one took forever!! :S I actually never missed in the solo, but I COULDN'T GET TO IT!! And when I did, I choked twice after it >_> Haha I don't know why I had so much trouble though, I just kept randomly missing near the beginning :/
FC #34 : YYZ - love this song, even though a lot easier than GH2X! Took a few tries, I've had a few silly misses.. Solos were easier than I would have thought

Also, I got my first TTFAF 5* on Smash Hits!! Haha I could have had it a while ago, but just never really tried before >_> Well, I barely got it actually, but I REALLY suck in the "post insanity"-like parts, I can't keep a combo :/ It's so much worse than on GH3 I really have trouble with all that fast strumming, I don't know if it's because I couldn't set my lag properly, but anyway, hopefully I'll improve that and then improve my score a lot more!

1st update of 2010!! Happy new year to everyone

Alright, so I don't really have new FCs, but I didn't grind anything over the last month The main reason is that I don't have a properly working guitar controller anymore :/ My LP always drops reds (it wasn't too bad for a while, although I think I was actually very lucky I could FC TSoR and DYFLWD with it!!) and my x-plorer isn't so bad, but it randomly overstrums (mostly when there's fast strumming) and it's MUCH harder to fret fast solos I've only been playing with it lately and got better with the fretting, but it's still really hard!

But, new piano-style split screen video!! This is the Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting) FC that I got before holidays and didn't get time to edit/upload it until recently XD

I had You Give Love a Bad Name on video too, but my score is awful as I used my x-plorer and couldn't get the 1-sp activation, so I didn't bother doing this one :P If I can get it right I might do a new one!

Also, biggest news of this update : I got asked to do an interview for the 5frets.com website about me and my piano-style playing technique, and here is the result : Top Player Interview: Lilirock Plays Guitar Hero Overhand Piano-Style Haha I think they exagerate a little bit on my "extraordinary" skill level, but still I was very honored that they'd want to do an interview at all in the first place. It was my Spirit of Radio video that caught up the interviewer's attention Oh and I wrote a LOT, so look for bold sections if you don't want to read the whole thing

I'm taking a break until next year :P Being sometime in beginning of January of course I just can't keep up with all IRL stuff during holidays, I can barely touch my computer these days :S So I'll wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! And I'll be back as soon as I can

But before I go, just quick little updates too, I've had time last week to play a couple really short sessions in which I got FCs 75 & 76! The 2 easiest ones I had left of course, 'cause I really didn't have even like a whole hour to play, so not enough time to grind anything harder..

So, FC #75 : You Give Love A Bad Name - bad sp, I actually started playing with my x-plorer (so bad whammy), and I couldn't get the 1-sp activation... my LP kept dropping reds everywhere, so much I had to stop playing with it my x-plorer is very reliable, but harder to fret... :/ Oh and took about 20 mins., that FC was overdue!

FC #76 : Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting) - got it in like 2 tries, but forgot to activate on the last act.. so score a bit lower than should have.. still happy with it anyway

Oh also, now top 10 on 360 and top 15 all consoles! (9th and 12th to be precise)

Update on my GH5 expert guitar progress:

OMGOMGOMG!! GH5X Do You Feel Like We Do (Live) 100% FC!! Hmmm I guess keyboard solo 2 was easier than I thought after all So... I had not played at all since my last 902k run on Monday.. (Christmas dinner, etc. XD), then tonight, even though I was exhausted, I decided to go play just a little bit, see how I'd do on DYFLWD(L) First run (also 1st thing I played) I tried remembering SP path so that I wouldn't have to pause on an eventual FC video.. I did silly misses in Solo 1A or in that area.. then missed in keyboard solo A's 2nd trill, then missed in the ending trips.. Of course I had messed up a few activations, so I went back to look at the path (memorizing the 3 acts I had forgotten), turned on my cameras (just in case..), and 2nd run: bam FC!!! :OOO I still can't believe I didn't choke My score actually sucks, I never thought I would FC this so fast, so I didn't try to squeeze at all, I dropped extended sustains (so tired.. wasn't paying attention enough haha!), and I dropped so many red sustains :/ My red fret does that all the time, really annoying :S Also I was so shocked I still had not missed that I forgot to activate on time on the 2nd to last act All I was thinking after that was: those parts are easy, DON'T CHOKE!!! Anyway, I'm still REALLY happy about this FC



Oh and split-screen video soon It might take a few days before I get time to edit those, but I'm gonna put up the vid(s) of this for sure

Also, please don't have high expectations like 80 FCs or some other really hard songs so soon, 'cause Do You Feel Like We Do is actually easy for me overall compared to most songs left for me to FC Gratitude's solo is harder for me than every parts of this song >_> Also Bring the Noise 20XX, American Girl, Demon(s) and No One To Depend On all have solos I still never hit, not even in practice (not even talking about the harder ones) But of course I'm gonna work on that

Update on my GH5 expert guitar progress:

So I was going to wait for a new FC before replying to everyone, but instead of going for new FCs, I decided to play harder songs to try to increase my overall rank first :P Also with a pretty busy week-end, I only got a chance to play yesterday :/

So.. I played Do You Feel Like We Do? (Live), 'cause I had played the song only once with a pretty bad sightread score of ~730k >_> So, 2nd run, I got 741k.. still bad, but just enough to pass AlexHaz64, after putting up some old scores on other songs

Then I thought I'd try to reFC Medicate on video to do a split-screen one.. I got it with a ~1k improve (just enough to pass Mr.Scientist ), but unfortunately my screen video had too many skips, I couldn't get it to synchronize well So I'm gonna work on some new FCs for split-screen videos instead! Good news is that my video editing software is back up and running (I didn't have any for a month after the evaluation period was over)

A little ashamed by my still really bad DYFLWD(L) score, I decided to take all solos into practice a little, and see how far I could get in real runs. Then 3 or 4 runs later, I got a 180k improvement from my sightread

First run with path I FCd all but -1 note in keyboard solo A (silly miss, I never miss there ) and -1 note in outro solo A (forgot to strum an easy note ) Should have got a slightly higher score, I missesd some SP due to dropping reds on chords (red fret problem..) a couple of times. So -2!! :


(P.S. I know, I still need to chance that back in english >_>)

Then on the run right after, I managed to improve my score (dropped less reds!), but missed a few notes in 2nd trill of keyboard solo A and in the ending trips (-6 total).. Again, I usually don't miss there :S Nice streak though



FC soon maybe Actually the only really harder part for me is keyboard solo B (which I FCd twice in a row in those runs!), it took me forever to finally get it in practice with 0 consistency haha! And of course not to miss randomly in other parts or trills or ending fast chords... I really like playing the song though, hopefully I get more time to play soon

Oh and I was about to forget my main accomplishment which is my improved 360 ranking to 15th place!! GH5X scores HERE!

At last new GH5 progress, as I got my new 360 2 days ago!!! Didn't get much time to play yet, but still.. Oh also I choose the language setting in french this time, so yeah >_>

No new GH5 progress obviously, I sent my Xbox only 2 days ago (I had to wait for the box, return label, etc.), and it'll likely take another few weeks before I get it back Oh well, I miss the game, but I'll survive haha! I take more time now to sleep during the day with my daughter

But I uploaded a new video on Youtube, it was from about 6 months back haha! It's a pro face-off against f4 during the Cevo Metallica tournament Please read the vid's description for more info!

Oh and one thing though, for fun last week I completed GH80's Hard career on Dualshock!! I'm just happy I've been able to pass all songs, failing once on Electric Eye >_> I really suck at it though, I'm so confused all the time lol, I think I only 5*d one song I tried it on expert, and only been able to pass like 2 songs (barely), I was miserable haha! Tidus, I'm so much more impressed (even though I already was of course!) by all your hard/expert FCs on Dualshock, that's crazy!

Update on my GH5 expert guitar progress :

I've been able to play many hours last week, yay!! Finally more new stuff

I obviously went for a new bunch of FCs, and pretty much got rid of easier ones, and reached 70 Also in the process of going through the setlist, I reFCed Ring Of Fire twice to try and get my first optimal ever on a song, and I got it! I know of course it's so easy.. but I don't care, I'm still very happy about this optimal and first place It also means I can squeeze easy stuff!! >_>

Also a little before getting 70 FCs, I reached top 20 on 360, and top 25 overall Also 27 mil. points! I'm currently 14th on 360 and 24th all systems.. I'm hoping to work on that to improve my ranking more, I still have many songs left to FC, and a few songs still have my bad sightread scores XD Not to mention I have very much room for improvement on the hardest songs

- Younk Funk : I need to work on the 2 parts with chord changes.. the rest shouldn't be a problem
- Back Round : not sure, haven't played this since sightread, I don't remember the song
- Medicate : I remember the pretty fast and chokable outro, but it shouldn't be a problem
- Do You Feel Like We Do? : haven't played it since sightread either.. if I can hit the solo (don't actually remember it very well), I should get it with lots of patience
- No One To Depend On : I'm very close to hitting the solo trill (my best being -1), if I can find a way, and become consistent in the fast strumming, I should be able to get it eventually!
- Gratitude : I think I'll FC NOTDO before this :s I hate that solo
- Bring the Noise 20XX : Actually never hit the full solo yet, but pretty close >_>

Update on my GH5 expert guitar progress :

Well I didn't do much at all over the last week ½.. my baby daughter had been sick since right after my TSOR FC :/ With her not sleeping well at all during the day, all I could manage was 30 minutes of playing on october 31st On that session, since I knew it was gonna be so short, I decided to try out GH3 and try improve a little on TTFAF (Graf asked for a hands vid XD).. So before TTFAF, I gave a shot at Cliffs of Dover, since I like playing it so much, and still needed the FC. I got it in 3 tries, only took about 10 minutes

So FC #43 on VIDEO HERE!


Then I played TTFAF of course.. First try in months, I do pretty good, probably my best run up to the solos.... then I fail right before Here We Stand lol Then on my next try I managed to get my best score ever, and first 5* of the song in career play It was just a lucky run though, I didn't even 5* the next one or 2 runs I had time to play >_>


Then 2 days ago I FINALLY(!!) could play GH5 again for more than 30 minutes!! So I had 2 sessions of ~2 hours, and got a bunch of new GH5 FCs I didn't bother starting over when I didn't have the best SP though..

Btw I'm kinda proud of my Guitarhenge venue ranking (5th on 360, 7th overall ), even though my SLTS score is pretty bad.. I think I'll reFC today if I have time haha! Edit: just reFCed, but doesn't change anything overall >_>

Update on my GH5 expert guitar progress :

Got another 1½ hour of practice after my last update, and guess what?!

FC #40!! Of course, with a piano-style split screen video, which is also the highest video on xbox 360! Pretty good score too, ranked 4th on 360 (my highest ranking on GH5 ), and 10th overall as of now XD And I dropped 2 3-note chords sustains because of my red fret :/

I never thought I'd get this today already... I spent like 20-30 minutes in practice mode and never even got consistent on any part of the fast strumming Then I got annoyed and decided to go for real runs.. of course I got 2 more -1 runs missing in 1st then 2nd part of fast strumming, a few runs with misses in hopos parts before solo, and got my lucky run the 3rd time FCing up to the solo XD So happy about this one, even more since I got a good score on it too!!

Well now I can continue my quest for more (easy) FCs >_>

Update 2009/02/18
OMG I just learned I'm Guitar God(dess) for GH3X!!! lol I was gonna update only with my new FCs, and right after I entered my new TTFAF improved score, I realized it was a 5*!! :O By like 1k pts.. I was so sure that the cutoff was so much higher, as I've always been so far from it before! I think my 2 hours of practice on the song paid off And this was my first run of the night.. I tried to beat it afterwards in career (to get the 5* ) but only got like 553... >_>



So I had been playing GH3 once a week since about 3 weeks (for Clan practice XD), so I thought maybe I should try to practice TTFAF a little bit to improve and at least become consistent on getting more than 500k on it haha! So I did that, then when I got tired thinking I could never get higher than that 567k score, I decided to play a few other random songs.. So I played CoD (always messed up), then played :

FC #41! First try in many many months... I forgot the right SP and got a lower score than my non FC.. but still FC!


FC #42! Right after WttJ, I thought why not try Cherub Rock, it's easier than WttJ , and also FCed it first try I forgot the 2nd activation (too early), but the rest was pretty good I think! XD


I didn't play much GHWT in career lately, but just long enough to reFC Parabola with path!

Also I wanted to add I've been quite inactive on SH lately, and played a LOT less of GH... and this is mainly because I've been extremely tired for many weeks, due to a specific reason : pregnancy ;) Hopefully this only happens the first months, then I'll have more energy But right now, most of the time, as soon as I have some free time I just want to go sleep So yeah, I'm almost 3 months pregnant, and baby is due.. on September 11 :s Don't worry I won't discuss that more in my thread, I just wanted to tell friends why I disappear so often lately XD

Update 2008/12/12
Tonight, I got my first ever 1st global!!! Ok.. only on Bass, and on a DLC song, but still! I beat Mithin XD I love this song, and decided I'd try to FC it after seeing Mithin's vid (first time I ever saw the bass chart!) I practiced the open notes hopo parts a few times, and that was like my 4th or 5th try going for the FC (2nd run tonight) Also, I was using a borrowed projector from my work place to test it (we'll play GHWT at our Christmas party from work! XD), so my vid quality is actually very good for a change!!

So I put on GH2 after months to play 2 songs for our SH Friends Rivalry... I do pretty bad at Mother, then try to FC Madhouse without succes... Then I thought I'd give Jordan a try (after passing it only once ever on GH2 )

First try, I do pretty good until solo A.. where I activate SP by mistake lol >_> So I failed in end of B.

Second try, I FC up to break(?), FC almost all solo A, then do VERY bad on B, but I somehow pass it, and pass the whole song, ending up with 277k! I had not played the bridge forever and didn't practice it before, so I just understood the timing near the end, so I could have got so much more! :O

At last, GH2X FC #20 Thunderhorse!! Still can't believe it lol! After a break from it for a little while (I only played it a few times over the last 5 days or so), this morning in about 45 minutes I had 3 -1 runs (silly mistakes), 1 100% run with 2 overstrums again in silly places, then I finally got it I was shaking so bad at the end, I was sure I'd choke on the 3rd to last note or something (I sometimes miss there lol)! Thankfully I didn't, I would have cried haha! Sorry DZJB, no YRGM as #20

And I have to say a big thank you to f4 (again haha) for encouraging(?) me to go for it, and all your help And to everyone who kept supporting me as well

I've never actually created a thread before, so I might as well do that in the accomplishments forum..

I started playing GH3 in early december 2007 (sadly I had never heard of GH1 or GH2), now a couple of months later, I'm about to complete expert career.. I discovered SH a few weeks ago, and improved a LOT since! I got most of my FCs over the last 2-3 weeks, and also passed TTFaF and Jordan for the first time! I heard about the existence of SP paths, squeezing, tapping, Jordan (thanks to HA's 500 pages FC thread! ) and custom songs as well!

It seems as though you and I are in the same boat. Only difference is, you've been playing a month longer. I haven't beaten TTFAF yet, but I haven't really tried. Raining Blood really isn't that big of an obstacle, I'm sure you can overcome it. It just takes practice. If you want some additional practice, try doing the finger movements even when you aren't playing the song. It helps to build your muscle strength and gives you that muscle memory. You have just gotta be quick. I find it helps to try and strum at the beginning of every quad pull off. You'll get it soon, I'm sure.

Also, how do you do the intro for TTFAF? I'm thinking about starting on it, and I'm gonna try and find a good way to do this. I play the song in practice all the time, but I'm usually too lazy to do the intro properly, I just wanna play the rest of the song =P.

I'm liking your FCs, more than I have. I only have 11 total over Hard/Expert. I make stupid little mistakes and have an infinite amount of -1's =[. Don't worry too much about the SP paths, I don't even bother with them or squeezing. I don't think it's too important. I think it's just important that you FC the song and use your SP accordingly the way you think it's done well.

Wow congrats on your progress. You have so much potential considering you've only been playing for a couple of months or so.
