This is my custom X-plorer. I originally in my haste used the buttons and board from a ps2 RO wireless controller and after i cut everything up got it perfect went to put the board in and my dumb@ss didn't check b4 i did everything and the ps2 wireless and the x-plorer's boards are wired different. Different grounds which caused problems with multiple buttons registering when one buttons hit. So i bought a broken x-plorer off e-bay and switched out the boards. At first i hated that i didnt just wait and use the buttons and everything from the broken x-plorer but now i like that each sets of buttons has its own shape.

Thanks very much! I wanted it to look fairly clean and sum what stock. I ended up spending like a day with the dremel cutting the cage for the buttons out of the old neck so that it would just drop into the x-plorer neck. then just cut out the holes 4 the buttons in the x-plorer neck. It fit super snug I couldnt plan it better. I didnt really even need to glue it but I did just in case. I dont feel like taking it apart this second but ill post pics of the inside of the neck at sum point.

I read a post here http://www.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40719 about using microswitches for the fret board. There havn't been any pics posted and I did it to my solo buttons so I thought Id post sum pics

Heres the back of the fret board.

Heres the actual switches and the button themselves. I had to add sum plastic to the buttons to take up the slack.

Heres a close up of the switches. Its a lil blurry.

Heres the regular buttons for comparison

And heres the solo buttons I made them a little low profile
Anyway all I did was attach them to the old board in a way that the switches wouldnt short then stuck it back in and there you go. I'm gonna post a vid of me playin the solo buttons here soon.

Alrighty heres a quick vid of me playing welcome home on the solo buttons its not very long, I just wanted to show that they worked well. Plus I thought watching me play the whole thing would b boring but then I ended up gold starring it for the first time so I included a pic of that too.

Here's the vid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HdHdGVHMZE
I use the solo buttons mostly for when I'm just chillin sittin down b cuz my hand gets less tired and cramped. My friend said it makes him think of skwizgaar cuz I'm always sittin on the couch or a chair clickin away lol.

Here's my score:

(yeah my bad I know its the guitar hero forum but it was the song I was playin at the time lol)
