EDIT : Or at least I thought...
Alright. So it's been a couple of months, and lo and behold, my blue button stopped working (As well as a little of my orange...Which is the one I already fixed). So I redid the entire thing...Including the ones that were already done, because they had indents.
IT WORKED PERFECTLY.
HOWEVER...
3 days later...And my buttons still don't work...I opened up my guitar and looked...This is what I found.
You can see that they are all starting to get indents...However, the top row middle two have it REALLY BAD.
So...This maybe isn't the best fix, and seems to be temporary.
I don't know why there are indents in those two so badly, the pins are spring loaded...So I'm really clueless now...I'm getting quite mad, I can't do anything anymore in game. So I think i have to perma hardwire it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure if anyone already posted something like this.
My first guitar I had to send back due to the fact that the yellow button didn't work.
My second guitar had the same problem with the orange button. After taking a look at where the pins go, I discovered...
The black dots at first looked almost like it was just dirt or something. But they were actually dents.
So I used a peice of tinfoil to bridge the connection for a long time (Which didn't work too well) until my dad felt like bringing out his sodering gun.
Result works perfecctly.
(sorry, my video camera doesn't take the best pics)

An awesome fix! Vote for adding to BriGuy's Sticky.
Obviously a ton of soldering skill is needed, but much easier than hardwiring! |

Actually, just put a drop on the circles. Not much skill needed in that. |

Seems like a pretty good fix. I'll know what to look at when I have a problem with this... _________________

If your dad is an expert solderer then i'm sure he made it look easy. Theres no way I could be that accurate. |

You don't really need to be that acurate. Even if one of your dots is WAY too big and another is way too small, don't forget that the LP has springs in the connector. It's okay if they are unequal in size. _________________

Actually it is quite easy, as long as you know the basics of a soldering iron/gun, the solder sticks right to the pads no problem. _________________

I have the wireless Kramer for PS2 and SOMETIMES the blue note will give out or flicker. Extremely frustrating... Would this be the resolution? |

This is one of many resolutions. For other fixes and ideas, see the section in Briguy's modding 101 thread on detatchable neck fixes. |

Just want to verify that this works great. For anyone that is worried about soldering, I bought my first soldering iron today and was really nervous about doing this. My soldering job was actually pretty sloppy and I honestly thought it wasn't going to work because it looked so bad. Plugged my guitar in, and only played for about 30 minutes, but I had no dropped holds. I reinforced the connection of the neck and guitar with some paper and a rubber band, so its tight and won't jiggle around. I recommend this fix to anyone, thanks for posting this. _________________

I did it too (ok, I asked someone to do it for me :p), it was fine the 1st day, but now the yellow (and sometimes blue or orange) fret randomly stopped working, even with the neck not moving.
It often happens when I activate star power (tilting or select, it's the same)
I guess there's no other way than making it hardwired ? _________________

It was the same for me to, this fix worked temporaily, I finally got fed up and hardwired the neck and then bolted it to the guitar with two bolts.
