I'm pretty sure that most of you know that Metallica and Dave Mustaine have been in a feud a couple years back for quite a long time. I'm excited if this happens. I wish I could have been at the Gigantour '05. I mean comon Dream Theater, Symphony X, Megadeth. Those three bands are orgasm worthy. |
Actually their feud has been pretty much buried for several years, them getting invited doesn't surprise me at all. Should be a good tour if they do end up signing on.

I would be very amused to see Metallica and Megadeth tour together. Not so much because they're both kick ass, but just to see how long it takes for Dave and James'/Lars' egos to burst. _________________

On topic: Go check out Gnostic. They're a side project of Atheist, adn they're hella good, and they'll be playing Maryland Death Fest in May. |
Gnostic are great. I just got their demo from the internet a few days ago, Isolate Gravity. You can get 2 of the 3 songs from their website here.
There are also 2 awesome tech death bands from Russia that I found a few days ago. The two bands are Heironymous Bosch and Rest In Pain. You can download songs from their webiste. If you like tech death at all you need to hear these bands. Rest In Pain is really, really crazy, like a jazzy Gorguts. Heironymous Bosch is also somewhat jazzy but more death metal than Rest In Pain, kind of like Gorod.
Also, 100 pages of awesomeness. Thanks for putting up such good discussion for the last 100 pages and lets try and go for another hundred. _________________

I really enjoy Megadeth. But for some reason, I just can't stand Metallica, to me, all of their songs sound the exact same haha. I also enjoy Megasus, they have some great its. As I lay Dying is also good. My list can go on forever. Iron Maiden is simply my favorite haha. _________________

Has anyone here seen Sam Dunn's doco Global Metal? I just picked it up, and I am astounded at how far this music has spread and how well it breeds into traditional instruments... And how awesome some bands like Salem, Sigh and Tang Dynasty sound is unbelievable considering their countries metal output are still to come to age per se. _________________

I watched it on Youtube a few months ago. It was pretty good. Not as good as A Headbanger's Journey, but then again, Global Metal has Max Cavalera. So, yeah, big props to Sam for getting to talk with the god of Brazilian metal. _________________

So funny to see many of you American guys loving Norwegian black metal. Windir isn't really that well known, are they? Some relatives of mine (personally) knew some of the guys in Windir, I didn't think you guys knew about them. (sorry for fucked up english)

Not so weird, really. Megadeth and Metallica are two VERY different bands. I don't understand why people are discussing who's the better one (I know the story behind Dave/Metallica, but that doesn't mean they are the same band with different members). And yeah, Megadeth all the way! _________________

That was perfect English, dude.
I personally have never heard of Windir, before. I'm gonna check 'em out, though.
EDIT: Pretty good. They sound a little bit too much like another black metal band I know of called Equilibrium. _________________

Show last night:
First band breached a bit into metalcore, I don't care for them.
Nihilist I believe played second, and they were great. They did a really good cover of Tornado of Souls.
The Nauseating Stab was after that, they were okay, that's about all I remember.
Havok was next, and they were amazing. Great covers of Caught in a Mosh and Raining Blood. Those really got the crowd going.
Then Exmortus played. They are extremely good live. They bring some sort of energy in person. They add more to the solos than the original recording, they play faster, and they breakdown harder.
Neurotoxin played after that, they were good. I'd definitely get their album if I found it somewhere, but it wouldn't be my first choice.
Bonded by Blood topped it off. It seemed like they played a shorter set, but they were great.
Havok or Exmortus topped the night, BBB and Nihilist after that.
I recommend you all Havok, Exmortus, Bonded by Blood, and Nihilist (once nihilist releases an album :P) _________________

Which band named Equilibrium would that be? Any links to songs? _________________

Equilibrium sound way closer to power/folk metal than Windir do, and they have much, much more black metal sounding songs than that one. I like Windir more personally, but that's because I don't really like folk that much. You should check out Primordial and Ancient Rites. Their sound is kind of in between both Windir and Equilibrium. _________________

That's exactly what I thought and why I needed a little clarification. I absolutely love Folk Metal but I never really got into Equlibrium. I just saw Ancient Rites in December and I obviously endorse the Primordial rec. I get to see them for the first time in May! The one and only time they came to the US, they came to Station 4 in Saint Paul which is where I'll be seeing them this time. _________________
