i like this program
but you've gotta fix the star-power...WAAAAAAAY to much star power usage...
and it skips ALOT of "important" notes(u get my point) on EMH... but i like most of it on easy, but hard and medium still sucks
i tried out with these 5 songs:
Flight of the bumblebee (total disaster)
AC/DC - tnt (good on hard and easy but medium sucked)
Queen - We will rock you (good on easy, but medium sucked...)
Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze (bad on EMH...)
Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger (GOOD JOB!)
Star Power was over-used on all of the songs...

Hey humor, i think what you should do in lower difficulties is show preference to notes that are on beat markers(i.e. are divisible by 192) in your EMH conversions. It sounds like the EMH charts just have random notes taken out, so if you edit the algorithm a bit to keep more beat notes, i think you'll find a lot nicer EMH charts generated.

And cut down on SP, yes.

i didn't try the others

Maybe you could add a variable for the amount of SP phrases? And then they would be spaced out throughout the song. That way if you're playing something insane there will be more SP, and less... You get the point. And it would help people who don't even want to have star power added who will do it themselves. ^-^

My 2-cents.

this program works alright but just to let you know that i was testing a few charts and when i converted a chart on the medium difficulty it put some oranges in the chart.

as well as it would be nice if you incorporated midi support as well i have a few charts that i found that are in midi format that i would like to test out.

Um, Mid2Chart by Leff?

Or you can open the MID in Feedback and save it, then it saves as a .chart.

I realize the star power is far too frequent. And that the EMH conversions are poor. At this stage I would say expect more of a "proof of concept" than a perfectly functional program. But thanks for the feedback.

I am out of town for a few days but will get back to work when I get back home. I will first fix the star power issue.

How do you all like the file browser? Good? Also, anyone use the batch method yet?

the file browser is but could be better, it should save the last folder u used so you don't have to find it again and automatic add the .chart extension.

I would, but I'm not sure if humor4fun would be ok with that, which I don't mind. Just wait for his answer.

Also, I just thought this topic deserved a bump. So far, this program has saved me about 20 minutes of time on each chart I've used it on.

i would be ok with what? a savefile link? that would be fine, i just took down the old links because my source was vulnerable.

unfortunately there are issues with their website. I cannot register, or upload files. keeps saying my security code is wrong (which its not, i like to think i got at lest 1 of 15)

so anyone else is free to upload the exe to wherever, let me know an i can put the links in the main post

is that was he was getting at? or did he want something else? i really don't understand why people hate megaupload and need a savefile mirror. but whatever.

just used your program to add difficulties to two charts. works fairly well, just have to move a few notes. other than not handling chords, i have no complaints. VERY nice contribution, thanks!

could you explain a little more about how you had to move notes around, and what you mean by not handling chords.
