Well I have been helping out many people with there questions in TSG about solos. 99% of the time I have already posted a long description on a different thread about that solo. I didn't want to make a thread so I decided for each of these ‘Notable Solos’ to make a Thread combining some of the ways to get these down. Bear with me, this might be a big post.

Cliffs Of Dover Intro Solo B
1234-Left hand (Normal Flip) Right Hand (Lefty Flip)
1234-Right Hand (Normal Flip) Left Hand (Lefty Flip)

Intro Solo B

This section is not very difficult to learn If you know how to Tap TTFAF. I strum the first note and raise my hand up the neck while hitting the blue note. Or if you can Elbow strum, bring your tapping finger up to the last Orange note at the end of solo A. You don’t have to tap it but you can if you want.

Number of the Beast Solo1

These are the trills at the beginning of the Solo I usually use this fingering. Just slide your hand up at the beginning of the RG trills. No tapping really needed here due to the random strums and the sustain.

It really doesn’t matter what fingers you use to tap with, whatever you feel comfortable with using.

I doubt you would really need to tap this but this part is pretty fast, This is the only part i cant consistently FC.

This part is slightly slower than the last part. No tapping needed.

There is some strange strumming there; this part just takes a little bit of practice.

Stricken Solo
1234<-Normal Hand

Just Follow this Fingering and flail pretty fast.

Just anchor your index finger on the red while tapping the Blue and orange. You could also do this one handed. Just replace the tapped notes with your ring finger and pinky.

Knights Of Cydonia Galloping Triplets

Start of by strumming a the first Orange and sliding Index finger up the Red and Green button. Anchor your Index Finger on the Green and tap the Orange with your tapping finger. Like so...

Then for this

Just keep using the same technique for all of the triplets.

Shout at the Devil Solo Trills

Or If you need to tap this. Use the same method for the next triplets for the next set of BO triplets.

Red Lottery Guitar Break

I just slide my hand from the GR to the YB trills. I just FCed this sightread so it really dosent seem that difficult. If you want me to add a way to tap this I can.


Ok Whew thats a lot. I will be taking suggestions or If I see an overabundance of threads about the same song I will throw it in hear. I hope I have helped

You use a different fingering for the Stricken solo than I had seen before. For the first part you go 424321, and I go 423211. I had seen several other people who do it the way I do, but had never seen your way before.

Oh wow thats totally not how I do that. I looked at it again myself with a reelplastictar and I need to change that. My bad.

There seems to be a lot of tapping in unnecessary places, like galloping triplets, or the end of the stricken solo. I can fairly consistently FC those one handed.
I guess what I'm trying to say, is that maybe you could add a one handed method to the places where you only have a tapping method as people like me try to avoid unncessary tapping.

and will you continue to add to this thread?
if so, what are your fingerings for the Shout at the Devil and Red Lottery solo trills?

I added the tapping because most of the thread ask unnecessary ways to tap these. I never tap those sections but since they are the ones frequently asked for I put those in.

For the galloping triplets, I use 421, and find it alot easier than 411.

I do the tapping method for the galloping triplets, but instead of using 4 I use 1 and elbow strum.

Lol for the tapping part of the Stricken solo, I hold down red, flail as fast as I can on yellow with 2, and tap orange and blue. =P But overall, nice guide, the only thing that will be helpful is the NotB solo 1 =P.

im pretty sure the cod intro b, 2nd part of stricken solo, and at least trill for notb are all drawn up incorrectly here.

Yep. Not sure about the Number of the Beast one, but Striken's 2nd solo goes like this

Cliffs of Dover is fine, except the blue doesn't repeat. It's like this:

I fixed Cod and Notb, but I still couldnt find a problem with stricken.
