I have On Tour for the DS now.
Now, is there a possible way for me to get the files for On Tour on my PC?
This way we can possibly extract the charts, and we can then use the charts for a custom disk on GH3 or GH2?
Like, is there a way to transfer the DS game data to a computer?

How to extract the .chart files from the Guitar Hero: On Tour Nintendo DS ROM.

First, you need to obtain a copy of GuitarHero:OnTour.nds
I cannot tell you where to get this, but you can get it by taking it off of the game trough your DS, google around and you will find out how to.

You now have to extract your ROM with DSLazy.
Which can be downloaded here - http://l33t.spod.org/ratx/DS/dslazy/dslazy.zip
Run DSLazy.exe and open your ROM into it by pressing the 3 ...
Then you are going to unpack it, and it will go to the process of extracting your rom.

Now, before you do anything, open the folder your DS rom got unpack to, and copy the file arm9.bin. Copy it to your clipboard.
Now, browse to data, then gob. Inside this folder, paste the arm9.bin file.
Then go download one of these extractors,

http://www.moto-coda.org/gh/ungob.exe

http://www.moto-coda.org/gh/ungob.pl

Make sure it is version 1.2, or else you will get corrupted files.

The first one runs from command prompt, and the second is Perl. If you dont know how to use Perl, dont use the second one. I suggest using the exe. Its easier and gives you the same result. Credit to tma for both extractors.
Now, place the extractor you downloaded in the gob folder.
You should have 4 files, mainUS.gfc, mainUS.gob, arm9.bin and ungob.exe or ungob.pl

Ignore the 2 ExtractedData folders, you will get those later.

Now, go into command prompt, and browse to the gob folder.
I you dont know how to browse, you type cd, then the folder you want to go to.
Once you get to the gob folder, type in ungob.exe or ungob.pl (which ever you are using)
And you will get this screen.

Now, type in ungob.exe or ungob.pl like you just did to start off the command, then use the -h -b -a -d to run your commands.
For me, i would type
ungob.exe -h mainUS.gfc -b mainUS.gob -a arm9.bin -d ExtractedData

Like that, then press enter, and it will go about extracting the gob.

Now that we have all that figured out, go to the ExtractedData folder that you just created to extract your gob in.

Now for easy sake, were going to convert AllStar.
Create a folder on your desktop called AllStar, and in the extracted data folder, you should find 13 files that start with AllStar. Copy them into your AllStar folder that you made on your desktop.

Now download GameZeldas GHOTChartConvert from here - http://www.mediafire.com/?cxie9ambmdm
And also place that into your AllStar folder.

It should look like that.

Now, from command prompt, browse to your AllStar folder on your desktop.
Once you are at the AllStar folder, type GHOTChartConvert AllStar.
You will have to change AllStar to the song you are doing keep in mind, so if you are doing IAmNotYourGameboy, it would be GHOTChartConvert IAmNotYourGameboy.

Press enter, and let it extract! Now you should have the AllStar.chart in your AllStar folder.

You can now open your chart in GuitarHeroExplorer or whatever you want, and poof, you have a char for Guitar Hero On Tour!

Yeah, I was hearing you could copy the rom over to the computer and then just mess with the tracks. I've never done it so I wouldn't know, that's only what I've heard.

But thenm I guess once you make the custom just load it up to a R4 or Acekard like thing and use it in the DS.

What's the point? There are only four frets so it probably won't work for customs since most likely it'll be coded differently.

Oh, sorry, I wouldn't know how to copy the ROM over, all I know is some people were saying that would be the most logical way to create custom songs, and then they would just work on changing the notes based off the data fro mthe game, and map a different song onto an exisiting fret board, I think.

I'm not sure of this helps, but this is all I know. I've mainly just been looking around t osee if anyone figured out yet, because to me it seems to be the easiest one to get customs for since you only need a blank ds card.

The DS/GBA action replay that I think is discontinued takes the DS game card image and saves it to your computer. Then you are free to edit it (if you have something that can edit it) and then load the image back to the DS game card. I have one, but I think because it's discontinued, it wont read GH:OT and wont be able to get the image.

I heard other stuff would let you do it too, not just AR, doesn't the R4 come with software?

Can you try and tell us what happens?

Yeah, if anyone could figure this out that would be awesome, I imagine it can't be as difficult as the console games, but if you do try, can you do it so it works with the R4 and other stuff b/c if they discontinued the AR, then a bunch of people can't get the songs.

I guess everyone will just have to wait for someone willing to make a ghex type of program to inject customs into the extracted ds rom.
