I used GameZelda's instructions w/ the -N switch and loaded it into Audacity. Audio compression did not seem to fix the flux; at leas not the included one.
I did notice the sound wave does not start at '0' like it should for a normal audio wave. Hope this helps. |

Some guy ripped all the songs through his soundcard and synced them here:

How far did you get with this?
I got the program and the source....I got a copy of the phantom hourglass and the sound extracted ok. The program seems to look for a 'sdat' file and there is no such file in GHOT. I tried it on the hwas, gob, and nds files. The program looks as though it is meant to run on the nds file. There is a ton of code for encoding/decoding, but I am not programmer so I wouldn't know where to begin for making a decoder. It would seem that the decoder would have to look for 'sawh' instead of 'hwas' in the header.
Maybe if there was a way to change the hwas/sawh to sdat, nsddsnext would work? |

Hey, I wanna know. Isn't it possible to open up the on tour decades rom (I HAVE IT YUS!) and take out te sngs you want, to make your own personalized setlist with song from both game, onto 1 game? that would be awesome. You could have songs form both games onto one awesome one. I still have yet to unlock Satch Boogie on OTD. |

EDIT: Haha wow I'm stupid, I hope no one saw this. I'm currently trying to replace Buddy Holly in Decades with All Star. I'll edit this tomorrow with the results. |

I'm having some issues with GHOTChartConvert on the OTD stuff -- holding up making blank charts. I don't have the exact error message on me currently (sorry, on a different computer), but it's something about the ms being out of range and it changing it to 0 -- this happens many dozens of times for every sub-file it's processing. It does make a .chart, eventually, but I highly doubt it'll work right in anything.
Yeah, I haven't done enough testing and given enough information, I know. Just throwing this out there, though. I'll post more details later. _________________

Looks like the gem files are compressed somehow, same as some of the xml files I found. There is a header in each file that's at least 8 bytes long, maybe up to 12. Byte 6,7,8 are the compressed file size in little endian, and compared to other files the 0x45 in byte 5 and 0x10 in byte 9 seem to be constant.
I have tried throwing it at Perl's anyinflate starting at bytes 1 - 16 but had no joy. Anyinflate doesn't do raw zlib though, so this will be the next thing I'll try when I have the chance.
Hope this helps.
Edit: Actually, testing raw (aka RFC 1950) zlib wasn't so hard after all ... and wasn't successful. |
