I hope this is not a taboo discussion but can someone offer up a concise list of all the places you can go to find chart/mid files? Obviously this website is top on the list, but what about other spots?
Basically I'm getting into the process now of creating charts, and realized how time consuming the process is. I don't mind doing the work, in fact it's kind of addicting and fun! I just want to make sure I'm not re-inventing the wheel.
The other question I have is, in doing searches for custom songs on this website's database, I've found charts deep within the filesharing structure that don't appear in the database search-- is there some kind of occasional refresh that goes on where the database is kept up to date? |

The ScoreHero Custom Song Database is where you want to go, you can search all songs submitted, or narrow it down to your favorite band. You must be logged in for that link to work, this link normally shows up on the home page near where the Manage Scores link is. _________________

Oh, I know thats the primary source , but :
1. Are there other websites that house them (I know of one.. I think it's called guitarheroes.com but there aren't many there)
2. Does scorehero database update itself automatically once in awhile, or does it depend on the users to enter their content into the database? The reason I ask is many times I've found songs in member's data file sharing areas that weren't listed in the scorehero database. |

To host they, you can use any file hosting service, most people here use SaveFile _________________

You guys really know how to dodge a question
http://fretsonfire.wikidot.com/custom-songs
As with a lot of the songs on here, they're not all properly synced and some don't even show up in Feedback for whatever reason. _________________

customhero.net has some quality charts, although the selection is pretty limited right now |

Custom Hero is great if you like a limited selection of game-quality charts (as in perfect sync, time singnatures and tempo are correct, all difficulties and co-op instruments, and nothing is over/undercharted(although if you're looking for GH3 like charts you can just drop number 4 )) plus high quality (for youtube) videos for bass and guitar and all difficulties.
Unsigned is a Rock Band clone that (if you check their forums actually have a lot chart files (of course they have drums and stuff but none of that will show up in GH) the program itself is pretty cool too.
Yeah besides here, those two are the ones I like best |

This is absolutely awesome. Exactly what I was looking for!
I'm already seeing a bunch of chart files housed on "Frets on fire" that were not on SH and I was about to start making on my own!
You guys just saved me countless hours of time. I'm teary-eyed.
For the life of me I was not finding these sites with googles searches !!
If ANYONE has any other links to add please do !!!!
Here's the link to another chart source "guitarheros.com" that has charts not found on scorehero:

a couple of things:
1. If you want to post something on the forums its a good idea to make a new topic rather than post in one that old (in this case nearly 10 years old).
2. If you're going to request a chart, make sure you know exactly what chart you're looking for. If you know the author of the chart and/or have a video showing off the chart that helps others find the chart you want.
3. Caps lock isn't cool. |
