It won't let me sign in. Looks awsome though.

Edit: Nevermind. I just had to restart the program.

Works great. Once you get all the bugs ironed out, this program would be sexy upon sexy if the uploading of the scores could be done with the click of a button if the user chooses to do so. The uploading wizard is very nice and not confusing at all, but is just one extra step that would be in the way of, in my opinion, me becoming a power user of this program. But I do like it. It'll be great for those times when I'm up late and ScoreHero goes down for a while at 5:00 AM. Which is more often than I'd like.

I should note before it becomes an issue that batch submissions may result in automatic tempbans, since there is flood protection on the site. So if you happen to find a way to automate multiple score submissions, that's fine, but be sure add some processing delays to prevent it from hammering the site.

Other than that, everything Carrot said is still true and there's also no guarantee the program will still work if I ever need to update any pages it communicates with. At some point I hope to provide an XML interface to ease the development of these types of things. But nice job thus far.

@JCirri
as it turns out i've already accounted for that ;) though i had more of an issue with batch downloading of scores (needing 1 request per song in order to retrieve all scores is upwards of 80 requests for gh3 for example). there is always a delay of 150 ms between requests and an extra 2 second delay after every 5 requests. this can be seen in the score scraper around line 98 and in the score upload wizard around line 105.

of course these values may need tweaking at some point but they seem reasonable currently.

with the built in delays, i was able to upload all of my gh3 hard scores at once without issue. obviously that was a single instance that it worked and there is always a chance that it won't work ;)

@JRyder
when you say bugs are you referring to anything in particular that i may not be aware of or just mean it in general?

When you update, do you have to extract all of the files to replace the older version files, or is there a self-update option (if not, that may be something you may want to implement)?

Looks great.

Just in general, I used the word "bugs" in reference to the problems OTHER people were having, I, myself, have not had any problems.

Can't wait for that
Even if it is just an xml feed of all of my current scores / stats!
I hope that it will include all my old scores AND comments I put in there too.

@DarylZero:

Nice little app you have made

Worked for me right away on my XP system (already had Java 1.6 installed)!

I do have a couple little suggestions / requests though.

*) The 1st time you go and download anything from "My Scores", have the program automatically download the "Song Data" required for whatever was selected (I'm sure this is already planned).

*) Next, I saw that for 100%'s & FC's, you highlight them in BOLD GREEN fonts. Maybe do the same for lesser scores colors too. 80%-99% in Orange, and <80% in Red.

*) Lastly, and this is probably my top request.
Add more keyboard support!

When scrolling through a list of scores, and the highlighted item has a [+] next to it, typically you can just hit the right arrow key, and it will expand out all the data.

Same (opposite) thing for shrinking an expanded set of data using the left arrow key.

I VERY much like how it auto-expands all of your song scores by default though. very cool!

*) I guess also, you could make it so when a song that has multiple scores entered is be displayed in NON-expanded mode, it only shows the top score for that song next to the song name, and just no comment is displayed.

regarding the tree navigation:
after checking into it, there is an inherent issue with a treetable (as opposed to a plain table) for how to deal with keyboard navigation. in a regular table, the arrow keys would change the selected cell but that interferes with the left/right arrows collapsing/expanding the tree. thus by itself the treetable acts like a regular table in that respect. see here if you are really interested in it ;)

i should be able to add some extra logic to try to handle expanding/collapsing nodes. i should probably try to make editing the cells actually work with kb navigation while i'm at it.

bump for 0.0.3

Version 0.0.3
-------------
- Selected rows can now be expanded/collapsed via the right/left arrow keys
- Table cells for new scores can be edited simply by beginning to type if
the cell is selected (has a dashed border around it). You can change the
selected cell with the arrow keys. Note there is still an issue when
editing the Comment cell causing text to be appended instead of replaced.
- Hit percentages are now orange between 80 and 99% and red when < 80%
(same as on ScoreHero)
- Song data is now downloaded automatically the first time you try to
download scores for a particular game/difficulty. This means it is no
longer required to manually download song data unless new DLC comes out.

i've also created a patching system. from now on, if you have the immediate previous version (in this case 0.0.2) you only have to download JSHManager-patch-x.y.z-to-a.b.c.r.jar to the directory where JSHManager.jar is and run it. please let me know if that works properly.

Hey!
This app looks awesome, just downloaded latest version!

BUT, I'm running into a little trouble....
It wont let me login to ScoreHero, it says something about an authentication error:

Here's what I get

java.lang.RuntimeException: auth cookies are required but not present

How do I enable this "auth cookies" ?

Thx and gratz for this great tool!

WOW! AWESOME!

I certainly didn't expect such a fast turn around on all those features!

For me at least, the app has become 100x better from those feature additions!
Being an avid keyboard user (for navigation), that feature alone was worth it!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

EDIT:

Also, editing a field works the same as Excel, if you just need to edit the text of the field, you can just push F2 to edit.
Not really a fix for the minor issue, but just something I noticed.

I still have trouble to either upload new scores or download my old ones (downloading song data only works). This is on Ubuntu Linux 8.04 (Hardy Heron), Java version 1.6.0. After entering my SH-Username and password, JSHmanager just hangs.

These are the last lines that I get in my terminal.
Code:

[18:44:09][FINER  ][SwingWorker-pool-29773528-thread-1][jshm.sh.client.HttpForm]:   uname=chrib
[18:44:09][FINER  ][SwingWorker-pool-29773528-thread-1][jshm.sh.client.HttpForm]:   pass=********
[18:44:09][FINER  ][SwingWorker-pool-29773528-thread-1][jshm.sh.client.HttpForm]:   remember=1
[18:44:09][FINER  ][SwingWorker-pool-29773528-thread-1][jshm.sh.client.HttpForm]:   submit=Login

After that, the client doesn't respond anymore. If you want, I can open an issue on the google-code-Bugtracker.

@PatrickyBR
after clicking the login button, does the login window go away and then you get that error or does the login window first say that the login failed? i think i need to add some extra logging....

@chrib
i've confirmed this issue on my linux machine (fedora core 7 or 8 i don't remember :p). i'm not sure what's causing it currently but will look into it.
