Hey Everyone,

I finally managed to get GHTCP installed - only the 1.4 version though, which i have told will not work as it has been expired.

But there is a new problem...

When i try to install the 1.3 offical GH3 patch it goes into the setup and comes straight up with this error:

Code:
"Guitar Hero III could not be located on your system. Re-install Guitar Hero III and then run this patch again".

I have no idea why it cant find it, when i have it in the standard aspyr folder in program files....

anyone else had this problem? i have tried searching google but it has been no help...

Any help will be much aprechiated!

Cheers,

James

If you have a No-CD .exe instead of the original .exe in the folder, it will have that error message. That's what happened to me at least. If you have one of these and you have backed up the original, just switch them out for the patch. If you don't have the original .exe, then your going to have to reinstall the game. If you don't have the No-CD .exe, then you may have to reinstall the game anyways.

Yes, all of the versions should work on making custom songs. In fact, I don't quite understand why 1.52 won't install if 1.4 is. What exactly is it doing whee you try to install 1.52?

Ok.. I have uninstalled version 1.4.

I Have tried to install the new version of GHTCP but near the end of installing it i get this message.

Code:
The cabinet file 'disk1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

it gives me the option to cancelm retry or ignore.

When i press ignore i get this message

Code:
The isntaller has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2350

this is getting really fu*king annoying... any ideas guys?

I really wish i could use the 1.4 version, only because i have got it running lol

Cheers

How about you stop false accusing? I said I use a No-CD crack and I bought the game. I use it because I am a PC gamer and I don't like switching the discs out all the time. So I have a No-CD .exe for almost every game I have for the PC.

How about you think before you try to rat someone out.

Ugh...this didn't help ME.

I have the original .exe and I reinstalled it but it's still coming up with that error.

ANYBODY HELP!

Oh, and I got Vista Home Premium 32-bit, if this helps.

Make sure you have an no-cd exe for your version of the game.

Try doing a complete uninstall of Guitar Hero 3, then re-install.

I did that, AND STILL "Software Not Found"!

Tried to install patch 1.1 and after that 1.3, but even 1.1 said "Software Not Found"!

Oh, and I do have a non-cracked .exe for 1.0.

Did you download the game or install from disc? Because if you download the game, it won't detect where the game is. If you installed from disc, I'm guessing that it doesn't have permission to modify the registry.

no no no....what i really did is quite simple to what i wrote...THIS REALLY WORKS!!!: ok so...you install the game and run the patch(it says "software not found") thats OK...now..you must uninstall the game and install it again...DON'T CRACK IT AND RUN THE PATCH...it should patch now...so now run the GH3CP and open game settings(english)or something...overwrite=yes...when it opens the songs, close the CP...IF THE GAME DOES NOT OPEN...uninstall the game again and install it back...open up CP and that (english) again overwrite=yes...and CP should open the songs...and the game will work...I KNOW IT SOUNDS A LITTLE COMPLICATED BUT YOU MUST DO LIKE THIS...

chears!
