(Apologies if we had a thread on this already, or if this should be in Hardware)

In the past, almost every plastic guitar from Guitar Hero and Rock Band has had a convenient nickname that we've used to refer to it -- the SG, the Xplorer, the Les Paul, and the Strat, etc. But I haven't really seen a nickname for the GHWT guitar yet, which will lead to lots of awkward threads talking about "the GH4 guitar," etc.

The lead candidate IMO would be the "Schecter," which I know doesn't roll off the tongue, but had to be a big influence on the GHWT guitar design, with similar headstock and scooped body:

Thoughts?

those two guitars are very similar, but i dont think that people are gonna call the gh:wt guitar the "Schecter" because thats not the official name for it. lets just call it the gh:wt guitar and not be so lazy

You know I mentioned something along the lines to the peeps out in California that we should have a contest to name the GHWT guitar, but I guess GHWT guitar is a suitable name thus far.

Until an official name is announced I will be calling the Guhwit guitar. Or the Strokemaster 5000 thanks to what it feels like when you use the slidebar.

It actually doesn't have an official name. Someone asked them this question while we were at Neversoft, and they didn't have a name for it.

It sure does look like a Schecter though.

No one at Activision / Neversoft / Red Octane will call it the Schecter because they don't have a licensing deal in place for it. It would open all sorts of legal issues on their side if they started referring to it that way.

But we can call it whatever we want.

People have dubbed it the Generi-caster, but you can just call it the World Tour Stratocaster. But then it would be copyright infringement, wouldn't it?

EDIT: Just read your last post, Generi-caster would be the only suitable one there then.

I'm gonna call it the Plastar, or if that confuses people, i'll call it the GHWT guitar. Maybe the Touch-tar? Or Big-Sp-Button-Tar. Or if it sucks, we can call it the LP2.

Worltar

I think Schecter is a good pet name for us around ScoreHero. They look nearly exactly alike. You don't need a license for a community to unofficially dub something a certain name

Outside the forums, "The World Tour Guitar" will suit it just fine, though.
